I think comparative religion is just like the law -- comparative law. So, basically comparative law is not a branch of the law like criminal law, contract law or EU law but it is a research method. Religion uses that "religious" investigation to do comparative analysis, similarities, differences in religion. -- like the flood story of Noah is similar to the story of Gilgemesh or Jesus turned water into wine like Dionysus turned water into wine. Then Islam borrows from Christianity but corrupts it by staying Jesus did not die on the Cross, but the fact remains, the Muslims borrowed from other religion not of their own. Also they borrowed from Judaism. So, the problem with religion is when they "borrow" they attributed to a divine revelation from god but in the law, no one says those things; its silly. Magna Charter of 1215 -- article 39 and 40 has been used in Europe and Americas. Roman law was implented in EUrope and the Americas but no one claims it was a divine manifestiation. Then you have Moses inserting the Code of Hammurabi into the book of Exodus as if it is a divine relation by god.

This is so interesting. It's been some time since I think videogames, especially those with storytelling, have a spiritual component, imprinted either consciously or unconsciously by their developers.

can you investigate how much of islam was developed from and in reaction to zoroastrianism, and how much of it was developed independently

I plan to conduct more reading on Islam and Zoroastrianism soon, so I absolutely hope for future content on this topic.

This is a personal question that one need not be required to answer, but what is your faith/lack thereof if I may be so bold to ask?

Hey don't worry! I was raised Catholic, left in my teens, and am slowly making my way back to Rome. :)

@@snowyfictions Thanks for that! Might I recommend Eastern Orthodoxy? I won’t go into all the reasons why Orthodox > Catholicism in a KZbin comment - it would be the longest comment in KZbin history - but I, like you, had a similar journey. Not that culture matters in the church, Orthodoxy is universal, but I will say that the Russian tradition is my favorite. I’ve noticed in your videos that you also have an affinity for Russian culture, with your imagery and constant references to Russian figures / philosophers (I mean the video that revealed you to me in the first place was the Putin Theology one - very well done btw I must say) I digress, sorry for the long response, but I would encourage you to check out a ROCOR church. I’m sure there is one relatively close to you. Perhaps you already have. Anyway, sorry for the long response. God bless.

Hey, sorry for the late reply! I have considered Orthodoxy, but it's hard to make a commitment when you have so much uncertainity yourself. Thank you for your kind words about my theology video re: Putin. God bless :)

@@snowyfictions Very interesting. Please excuse my chutzpah, but I have to wonder whether or not you've considered making your way to Jerusalem instead. It always strikes me as rather odd just how few Christians, especially those open-minded enough to have left the Church, ever consider Judaism as an option. Not being judgmental, just curious :)
