What Is Criminal Law?

What is criminal law? In this video, we try to come up with an explanation that is the best fit for this very common question. From elaborating upon the kind of academic subject criminal law is to highlighting actual, fascinating case law including famous cases such as R v Miller (1983), R v White (1910) and R v R (1992), we try our best to shed the best light possible upon the nature of the criminal justice system. Throughout this course, you will learn the difference between a conviction of murder and one of manslaughter, moving on to other important distinctions that are a part of criminal law and ones that criminal law helps to make. Furthermore, we describe the approach that students must take when it comes to exam questions and what they can expect from this module, integrating within that, the knowledge pertaining to criminal law. We also go ahead and describe the kind of role criminal law can play in individual lives and society at large by playing a little game. Moving on, the nature of criminal law, due to its close relationship with the state is connected to public law, while we explore the very being of criminal law: by dissecting what crime is in itself, its evolution, the need for a system to punish it and the defenses available in accordance to it.
