What is Crossover Angle of Attack? | a Real World Killer

We will use a Real World (AAL) Training Video, Air Crash News Articles, some Principles of Flight, and a VIRTUAL 737 to explore CROSSOVER ANGLE of ATTACK.
Let's see if we find out WHAT this mysterious force is, WHY it comes about, and HOW it killed so many people.
This video contains real world footage and information, but I am prone to making mistakes. Any information you learn from this video should be used for the virtual skies only.
If you are in a real life emergency, with rudder hardover and risk suffering crossover angle of attack, and searched this youtube video using onboard WiFi, in the hopes you can learn what to do, and save the day, then I recommend you watch it. Seriously though, Real world accidents took place when pilots did not recognise the symptoms of crossover angle of attack. As with all airline accidents (and 1 pilot who saved the day!) lessons were learnt - and genuinely so, ensuring safer skies. Watch this, and your virtual skies will be safer too!
Modern day pilots are taught the effects of crossover AoA, and how to deal with it. It is important to recognise this term is NOT widely used or understood, but absent another more suitable term, we'll stick with the definition given to us by American Airlines' AAMP.

My own Real world experience, which ended up with an offer to become a flight instructor (voluntary basis) with the Air Cadets. Unfortunately I had to decline, but it was a time that was a lot of fun for many reasons. Since then it’s been simming and a genuine passion for researching all things flying.
