Coding is converting human readable language into encrypted or random letters/symbols, coding is not always programming, for example DNA encoding and decoding, Computer Codes like CRC, Hamming codes, Checksum etc. Programming is writing code using a programming language for giving instructions to a machine. I definitely learned the role of a programmer and a coder. Programming has to do with designing, implementing, debugging and so on. Meanwhile, coder is concerned about the smaller steps that has relation directly to writing the code. In another perspective by using an analogy, coding could be a few trees in a florest, while the florest as a whole would be the programming. In other words, coding is specific while programming is holistic.

*CODING IS WRITING BUT PROGRAMMING IS CONFIGURING* - when a single computer program is written using code, it is called coding. But when we implement libraries and functions to configure the system it's programing. In C we do memory management using coding, but that's also programming. That's why in case of C language we often say C programming.

Coding is not the translate the set of instruction into m/c understandable code, its responsible of compiler. compiler does this translation not coding... And talking about difference b/w coding and programming...? i would say.. The Programmers are those people who firstly thinks about algorithm then take a pen and paper or Whiteboard for draw a flowchart and some formula for his substantial logic and figure out how to execute his imagination or logic... After all this kind of work is done Coding comes in picture to translate the logic of programmers into xyz language that is coding.. that's why you can't program HTML page but you can code one Programmers are logic oriented and Coders are more language oriented if someone says he is coder which means he is strongly familiar with xyz language.. But today's world both are required...

I think there is no difference. If there is a difference, it may have been created recently by usage in the industry or has come into fashion these days. I think testing is also part of coding. In fact, for a programmer/developer there is a style of programming called Test Driven Development (TDD) where a test is written first and the developer writes code to pass the test. And that is just one kind of testing. In big companies, the developer is not involved in writing requirements. That is done by a Business Analyst. Other activities listed under "Programming" are done by other specialized people. Planning is done by Project Managers. Designing is done by an Architect (Senior Programmer) or a "Programmer" as referred to in this video. Testing is done by Test Engineers. UAT (User Acceptance Testing) is done by Users of the system. Deployment is done by Deployment Engineers or Release Engineers.
