What is DRIP investing and how does it work? In this video, you'll learn what DRIP investing is, why it's great for beginners, and how it can grow your portfolio over time through compound interest!
DRIP is an acronym that stands for Dividend Reinvestment Plan, and is a great way to build passive income within a portfolio. The dividends paid to you are automatically reinvested back into your portfolio without any effort from you at all! Each dividend payment, the DRIP will buy you more stock, which will pay you even more dividends to buy more stock and so on. This is a popular plan used by beginner and advanced investors alike. It can be an easy way to achieve dollar cost averaging in your portfolio as the dividends have no choice but to be reinvested. Combined with regular deposits from yourself, your portfolio can snowball really quickly and create a great source of compound interest.
