Dyskinesia is one type of CP and Dystonia is a type of dyskinetic cerebral palsy.
Children with dystonia have great difficulty in organizing and performing a function while any attempt to move creates an increase in muscle tone making it ultimately impossible to succeed in performing the movement.
Dystonia is characterized by involuntary, uncontrollable, repetitive, often stereotyped movements, in which primitive reflexes predominate.

Is bobath therapy good for dystonic CP?also can kids with this type of cerebral palsy walk?

Hello, Yes it’s ideal therapy for this type of CP. There are a lot of children that can’t accomplish the walking process but everything is depending from how early start physical therapy, the therapeutic program and now there are a lot of medicines that could help with their fluctuations of their tone. Everything is on the table….but is the most difficult pathology because of the fluctuations of the tone.

@@danielledoesmakeup22 no I don’t think so. The dystonic child needs to be in the middle positions and not in the final positions of a movement. My opinion is that dystonia needs everything that is based on normal neurodevelopment.
