I think we should also address the idea of rethinking our food, agriculture, fisheries and livestock as these are some of the biggest challenges towards ecosystem restoration.

How about the policies to restore ecosystems

KZbin's algorithm is really messed up, I can't believe I couldn't find this video sooner. Edit: I am having a horrible time finding more information on this. Websites talk about ecosystem restoration as if it's only _one_ job. My biggest issue here is that soils, water, plants, and animals are all handled by different jobs. Surveying, researching samples, creating and managing projects, taking out invasives, raising/caring for native species, re-introducing native species, regenerating soil, terriforming, and so much more goes into these projects. Not to meantion we are working with several different types of habitat. Ocean kelp forests, coral reefs, grasslands, deserts, wetlands, swamps, and so much more! Different people specialize in different things. These are seperate jobs, not one. It takes team effort, not just one person does it. All these websites make finding jobs harder, because they don't list the individual jobs and what they do. I'm trying to seperate them and look them up individually. I don't know every job title though! Is there anywhere I can find a list of the individual jobs ecosystem restoration requires???

We can restore our entire ecosystems yes we can. Growing plants on building roofs in cities is biggest restoration. Keep go green 💚
@markd.90429 ай бұрын
That's not the most feasible answer because of the logistical challenges involved. It's better to grow things like fungi and vegetation on the walls of the buildings, and then paint the many of the roofs white to help reflect sunlight.

Ecosystem restoration is the process of actively restoring or rehabilitating degraded or damaged ecosystems to their natural or healthy state. This can involve a range of activities, such as reforestation, wetland restoration, soil rehabilitation, and the reintroduction of native species that have been lost due to human activity or environmental changes. The goal of ecosystem restoration is to bring back the ecological functions and services that these ecosystems provide, such as clean air, water purification, climate regulation, and biodiversity support. By restoring ecosystems, we not only help protect wildlife and natural habitats but also improve human well-being by ensuring that these essential services continue to function. Ecosystem restoration is a vital component of global efforts to combat biodiversity loss, mitigate climate change, and achieve sustainable development. It also fosters resilience, helping ecosystems adapt to future environmental challenges while promoting a more harmonious relationship between humans and the natural world.

Individuals, politicians and corporations all need to do more to protect the planet from climate change. Stop using fossil fuels. Stop using pesticides, add solar energy to your home or business, buy an electric vehicle, eat more fruit and vegetables and less meat and dairy, plant a tree. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Donate to non profits fighting for a better future. Support and elect climate leaders. Every child should plant a tree, bush or flowers wiith a parent or teacher. It will help connect them to nature and the environment.

Humanity believe in planting trees as the main approach to restore the plant, however this approach has no hope of succeeding and it is not based on science. Trees can not stop deserts from expanding for several reasons, we have to start understanding that perennial grasses is whats going to help us out, and to get those grasses to grow we need livestock in massive numbers used as a tool to make the grasses thrive and take over the deserts. Not a word mentioned about this even though it is our only chance of stopping global desertification. Come on big organizations, we need you to start using commonsense if we are ever to succeed...
