I think they’re still gonna get rid of Erik ten Hag. Winning a trophy in the manner in which they did it was impressive, but people think that it’s acceptable for a club of Manchester United’s standards to be 8th in the Premier League table with a negative goal difference and dead last in their champions league group and for many weeks everyone said that ten Hag should be sacked, but now after beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final a day after his future was leaked to the media, everyone wants him to stay. They only show up whenever they’re the underdogs and are inconsistent against the rest of the teams and the way they played today it works against certain teams like Man City and Liverpool, it doesn’t work on a weekly basis. We want to be positive about United and while managers need more time, he hasn’t done enough to keep his job despite winning 2 cup finals in 2 years.

The bigger picture is ETH has taken United to 3 cup finals and won 2 trophies in 2 years. In those two years, Arteta has won 0 trophies and the celebrated Klopp has won 1. Yes, United has been shambolic this season. However, they have suffered from lots of injuries and everytime they have had a fit squad, the performances have been decent. The new young players who scored in the FA cup final are budding under ETH. What happens if a new manager comes through and curtails their development? I think ETH has earned the right to have a third season at Man United. He clearly knows how to win trophies and should be given an opportunity to continue building the team. Alternatively, they can fire ETH and hit the reset button. What happens if the new manager fails to get United into the Champions League and doesn't win a trophy in his first season? Does he get sacked?
