What happens when there are bushfires about and the outside air is very smoky in very hot days, will these units send smoky air into your home? will the filters have to be replaced or cleaned after the fire season? What about days when you have high humidity, I was told these are next to hopeless in these conditions.

Im pretty sure, they dont send the humid air into a building, theyll most likely just pump the water to a radiator with a fan in the building and the cooler just stays outside. Kinda like a split cooler.

And what about mould and bacteria? All these dripping wet pads and warm air seem to be an ideal environment for pathogens.

Yeah.....talk about creating a living "temperature danger zone". You'd literally be nearly turning your home into a perfect petri dish, if your concern is validated. Not sure if they use silver or some other anti-microbial/bacterial method of avoiding such a problem.

Mould doesn’t grow on moving water. It will only grow if it is kept damp for a long period of time.

I think by cleaning it regularly will reduce bad bacteria ....one more thing is that I think we need to innovate the cooling pads by simply using charcoal, like bamboo in the form of briquettes system so it will be called biochar
