In the name of this style of the early 20th century, one can actually already recognise its essential intention: "expressio" is the Latin term for "expression". The art, which emerged in the short period from 1905 to 1914, mainly in Germany with the artist groups "Die Brücke" and "Der blaue Reiter", was an incendiary modernist movement that is still relevant today and has etched its traces deep into the aesthetics and visual language of the present.
