B is afraid and he gave 10 lakhs..here extortion is completed. 384: punishment for extortion Same example as above after giving 10 lakhs..'B' complaint to police and A is caught he will be imprisoned for 3 years. Sec 385: putting a person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion Eg: A calls B and says I need 10 lakhs otherwise I will kill you or make grevious hurt. Here B goes to police station and complaint. A is caught he will be punished for 2 yes imprisonment.here act is not completed its an attempt only.
