Feels longer than a year since I first watched this video. Just re-watched and really enjoyed it, I've been playing Fate with a regular group online for about two years now, and lately I've been able to GM a few one shots (one was the Dresden Files using the older version of Fate, and last I GMed some Eclipse Phase for an event during the lockdown). Always greedy for more Fate content. I've yet to finish watching your Fate campaign, this seems like a good time to catch up on that.

Thank you for making this! I'm new to table top rpg's and I'm starting with Fate. No one else in my friends group has played any tt rpg's either so I will be gming. I'm reading through the Fate core book rn and some of the mechanics were confusing, but this and your other Fate videos are helping a ton!

Hey Guys i want to thank u both so much, I am about to make a maybe One-shot in Fate for a friends B-Day and i didnt had much time to prep. because a female friend (the Wife from that friend) just asked me about 2 Week ago if i have time to make a Fate One-shot for him. So i had just about 2 weeks time, but with he problem that i didnt had time in the first week to do anything and this week i worked every day extremly long and hard so that i instantly fell asleep after work, every Video i tried to watch how Fate works was to energie consuming and hard to understand for me (because of the extremly hard work week + i watched english tutorials, english isnt my first language, i think u already noticed it by reading my text) BUT, ure Video i dont know why is soooooo ez to understnad because of some reason ( maybe because of the style how u guys did the Video) I managed while i watched ure Video to get an idea what kind of Story i will do, how tf Fate works and how i will handle the Stunts, i also want to thank u for the Link with ure Fate Notes they helped me a lot. Ps: This will be my third time as a DM thats why i had such a hard time to understand how to create a World, because i only was the DM for 2 DnD games where my friends wantet to learn me how to be a Gamemaster/DM, i normaly dont have problems to get an Idea how the World will work or look like, but because in Fate ANYTHING is possible i had a hard time to understand how to Rule a Game with theoretically no rules. I never had before contact with Fate except that i watched one Game on YT but i didnt really understand the rules so your video helped me A LOT Thank u, Indigo and Groog for helping me create a World in Fate and understanding the rules LG Sebastian

Great! I’m reading Fate and FAE. It is a little different, but cool! The core book is very vague, and the same topic is written in different difficult across the Pages. This make the reading good, but you have to re-read the same Pages to make sure you really understand. Your explanation was very clear, thnx!

At the last FATE game I ran, I compelled the player to allow harm to happen to someone they love. Their Trouble was meant to protect someone else, and I put them in a situation where protecting both that someone they love and the someone they had to protect was impossible. They had to choose. They spent a Fate point to reject the compel. I think that's a really good example when a compel can be rejected: accept the compel and we discover your character is someone who can watch as their loved ones are harmed, but reject it and your character undergoes a dramatic character change where they choose to reject their duty.

I like your video, the only thing I'd like to hear is to whom Fate is fun and to whom is not. For example, I like understanding the limitations of my character. Let say that my character has a +4 on strength, how much weight can he lift? So, for me, Fate seems too ambiguous. A system that I really like because I can understand the limits of my character is mutants and masterminds. Part of the fun for me is to solve the puzzle to achieve the character that I want to play under the limitations of the system. Fate core seems to be a game that it is not for me. I'd love to hear of your opinion on this. What are the pros and cons of the system? What you can do and what you can't. Etc.

I think FATE good for some kinds of games. But since it us narrative driven it turns away players that enjoy a mechanical playstyle with emergent role play. Not the reverse.
