What is GIC for International Students? How to Apply GIC Step by Step Process Explained in Tamil

Processing fee may not be openly charged. But when i opened my GIC in CIBC i found paying from INR directly incurred more cost due to their high conversion rate. So i paid through CAD with 150$ processing fee (through international transfer from my bank) and the total came lesser than what they CIBC shows as direct INR amount. Suppose dollar value is 60 as per your local bank if you pay through them by CAD (by international transfer) then you have to pay 10150 to get 10000 dollars which is 10150*60= 609000 Whereas if you pay through INR from CIBC then they charge you more. For eg now it is 61.81$. Then you are actually paying 618100 (through local transfer to CIBC indian account) which is more in total even without the processing fee

It’s common brother, based on your bank your exchange rate will vary I believe. Its same when we send money to India from Canada using any remit services. If you have any friends Canada you can ask them to pay and you can pay to their India account but its kind of money laundry however 10K indian amount is not a big money to consider as money laundry 😊

@@overseasinsights Not big money maybe but if you have both options in hand why would you go to pay 10k extra. No one will do that. And some might not realize that they are paying extra 10k through this. Which is why i am trying to make them aware of this

Hi bro CIBC bank is good for paying GIC I had also paid for last September intake. And whatever you said is correct 💯. But unfortunately my study visa got rejected while i applied for refund they have taken nearly 32k form my total amount. While reading their refund policy I get to know that it was taken for transaction charges and conversation charge.
