I can guess, starting with a BA in geography, for a start .

Large industry with transferable skills. 3 main areas 1) Technician Roles: Computer science and Information Technology 2) Analyst Roles: Data Science, Information Science, and Statistics 3) Developer Roles: Software engineers, Coding programmers, and Web design + whatever special interest you may have (nonprofits, business and marketing, government, natural resources and conservation, etc.) There's a GIS job for almost every industry, and then there's the GIS Industry itself.
