"what is the fuss with buckie thistle" is such a good tongue twister, say it fast three times

I did it in an Australian accent then laid it over a beat

Airdrie are a surprising one - in the playoffs for the *Premiership* (though not exactly favourites, admittedly) and only in possession of the "Entry" license?

To be fair it’s only from next season onwards they’re upping the requirement. Probably didn’t have the funds for a bronze licence.

Saying that I think they should have their record expunged so that Raith get an extra few points (I am very bitter)

@@CallumBlyth I think quite a lot of the country would be fine with just randomly docking Airdrie points every now and then

It does seem very strange that Buckie Thistle were, along with every other club in the Highland and Lowland leagues, were told repeatedly what steps they would have to take. What I want to know is why the necessary actions were not completed before the end of March? Is it because it costs money and they didn't want to spend it before they knew that they had to as champions? I can understand not wanting to spend limited funds if it wasn't 100% necessary. They weren't going to know whether it was necessary until they won the Highland League. The league didn't complete until 13th April when Buckie won the league on goal difference. I'm assuming that the Bronze Licence did cost money. Thus Buckie could have spent limited resources for the license before 31st March, only to have finished second or third and be left with an expensive piece of paper that they didn't need. It's almost a Catch 22 situation. Even if Buckie had applied and received the Bronze Licence, failure in the play-offs still leaves the club with an expensive piece of paper. I suspect that there's bugger all chance of the SPFL changing their minds. These bodies rarely do unless forced by more powerful interests. However, I do think that the cut-off date for future seasons ought to be after the conclusion of the pertinent league seasons. If I have misread the situation, I apologise profusely. 😊❤😊

Yeah I agree with moving the cut off date but they’ll have this licence in place for next seasons cut off date at least so shouldn’t have this happen again.

@callumblyth3741 And then it's 35 seasons until Buckie wins the Highland League again. 😲😂😂😂😲

The first time buckie got to the play offs our games were watched by the sfa due to rumors of the players not wanting to go up, ended up drawing 1-1 at home then lost 1-0 away to east kilbride. think out of the whole squad 2 or 3 players wanted to go up and play a higher level of football, for most they work local to buckie or already travel form Aberdeen, inverness to play / train every week on top of working full time. its a hard sell to go play Stranraer away on Thursday night after a full days graft lol
