So, I'm a CS student learning Html, css and JS with a course. I'm planning to learn a backend language after that. Should I go for Go instead of Java? From this video, it sounds like Go is better in network programming. Java, as far as I know, is better in GUI application development than Go and it's versatile. I want to learn one that helps me even after 10 years when I'm working in the industry. The one that will be in demand. I'm scared of losing jobs because of ChatGPT and the increase of popularity in CS degree

Of those 2 you should learn Go. Java is on the way out and if you want to use the JVM there are many better languages to do so. That said, you are overthinking this. Over the coming years, you will learn several different languages. I have used maybe 25+ languages and just in the last small project I did I ended up using 3 different languages. When you know 1 language, it is pretty easy to learn another. When you know 2 languages it is even easier to learn another 🙂
