Good but I did not understand the need for a limit order price. When the price hits the target price and it is up for selling, the order can be executed instantly. What is the importance of limit price then ?

Your order will stay in pending orders. You need to exactly calculate limit price. Trigger price actually activates your order and places it to exchange

Gtt order once placed is active for one year. Only if its triggered but does not reach the buy or sell price, then it gets cancelled. One can place 50 GTT orders at a time.
