@@edwardjones282, Yeah, but he basically says every team that is not in the SEC is overrated and is going to be horrible, especially at the beginning of the season, so it should not come as a surprise and he should not get credit when it happens every now and again. Oftentimes teams that had great seasons and then lose a lot of production have bad seasons (sorry, but maybe not as bad as FSU this season, which he did not predict) the following year

How silly, Gus goes to FSU, does a good job and FSU fires Mike Norvell?? Get serious. Gus wants to coach. Gus can’t spend time coaching football, his passion with NIL, portal. Gus could not hire good offense and defensive coordinators at UCF. Lack of money was major factor. FSU will be a contender in ACC in 1-3 years.

Yea people bring this up a lot but it doesn't really happen. Coordinators sometimes, but still very rarely, get promoted to HC when you do so well that the head coach gets poached by a bigger program, not when your team is very bad.

Malzahn was at Aub in '10 with Cam. He had maybe three or four decent teams at Auburn, but a few underperformed. I think we've heard the last of Gus.

The second largest buyout paid after Jimbo's 75 million is Malzahn at 21 million. I don't think FSU can afford to fire Mike Norvell for a long time but who knows I'll be interested to see what happens if he continues to be awful.

Gus seems to be too out of his realm with the new transfer portal and trying to coach and manage the roster. I think this will be a opportunity to work with a mentee and help Norvell with the offense as well as recruiting. UCF thanks him for doing the right thing and resigning since we did not have the money to do a buyout.

The fact that Miami or any 3 loss teams can have a shot to play for "the countries best college football" is one of the reasons I am fully against a 12 team playoffs. 2-6 teams at the end of the year typically have a claim. What a joke that teams that aren't even top 2 in their conference are given a chance after they blew it during the regular season. If you like mediocrity, you've got the NFL.

It might help. FSU is an extremely liberal town with a front office making mostly DEI hires. Props to Norvell for having the guts and the support of a losing record to fire most of those. FSU needs to fire the AD. He's not from the SEC or even the south. He was hired out of the northeast to run their Boosters, then quietly slid into the AD spot. HE's the problem.
