What is Hanukkah the Feast of Dedication?

I'm so excited because while I'm listening to you my mind was thinking my body is the temple of Yah and the Holy Spirit dwells within me I will dedicate myself to Yah and try my best to keep his laws this year!. I can't wait to celebrate this Hannukah!. This gone be great my spirit jumping for joy 😊

Forgive me Bro. For not listening to the end before posting my previous comment.I’m glad that you addressed the 9 branch menorah and Exodus 25. However, we will not be coming into a new year for another 4 months. Exodus 12:2. This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. God spoke this in reference to the Passover and exodus from Egypt which occurred in the springtime, aka the months of Abib or March/April on the gregorian calendar.

When Jesus kept the Feast of Dedication it had not been perverted by giving 8 days of gifts. Today those who celebrate Hanukkah are only trying to rival Christmas. I was in the store last week and in addition to a kit to build a gingerbread house, there was one for a Hanukkah house. Next there’ll be a Hanukkah tree to bring into your house if that doesn’t already exist. Sir I absolutely agree with you that the original intent was only the rededication of the temple. I’ve read that account in Maccabees and it does say they celebrated for 8 days. Whether or not they actually did it they even talked about extending the celebration for 8 more days. No where have I read about any oil burning for 8 days. That’s why I have an issue with these 9 branch menorahs I see today. They are another corruption. Again, you are correct when you say God had given Moses specific instructions on how to dedicate the temple. I won’t quote the passages here b/c my comment is already long enough, but anyone interested in knowing that God ordained the menorah to have only 7 branches can read about it in Exodus 25:31, 32 . I own a 7 branch menorah and I know what it stands for but I do not celebrate Hanukkah

John 10 doesn't specify that YAHOSHUA celebrated/observed the Feadt of Dedication. This isn't a Commandment from FATHER YAH to observe like the HE Commanded us to observe, this feast was set up as a dy to observe by man... 1 Maccabees 4:59 - Moreover Judas and his brethren with the whole congregation of Israel ordained, that the days of the dedication of the altar should be kept in their season from year to year by the space of eight days, from the five and twentieth day of the month Casleu, with mirth and gladness.

The Book of Maccabees WAS NOT FOUND AMONG THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS. A simple search engine query will verify that the Book of Maccabees were NEVER anywhere near Qumran (where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found). The fact that it is found in the Ethiopian Bible and included as Apocrypha in some Bible translations does NOT mean that it is inspired scripture. The Dead Sea Scrolls IS the Bible from which our Messiah and King read. If you really just do some independent research (not implying that you don't) you will find that the Maccabees were Hasmoneans and the Maccabees/Hasmoneans did rebel against the Seleucid Empire but not behalf of the Most High YHWH. They rebelled because they wanted to establish their own Power Authority. They were in actuality Hellenized Jews with questionable Hebrew Roots (the evidence bears that they were actually converted Samaritans). The Hasmoneans/Maccabees usurped the true Priesthood and Kingship that was sanctioned by YHWH by exiling the true Zadokite Priesthood (which King David himself established with YHWH's blessing) to Qumran and they appointed themselves as High Priest which was actually a rebellious act against YHWH. They then established themselves as Kings of Judah which was a rebellious act against YHWH because only the Davidic Line from the Tribe of Judah held that sanctioned positioned. The fact that they forcibly exiled (expelled) the true Zadokite Priests from the The Most High's Temple and subsequently established themselves as High Priest was the TRUE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION (the Abomination that causes Desolation). Actually, it MAKES them THE TRUE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION because THEY HAD NO BUSINESS IN THE HOLY OF HOLIES! Josephus, was a Hasmonean noble, and he was just parroting the false Maccabean legend as it was taught to himself. The Dead Sea Scrolls themselves refer to the Hasmoneans/Maccabeans as 'Sons of Darkness" and the true Zadokite Priests as "Sons of Light" and they actually fought against each other with the Hasmoneans ultimately winning the war (and the Victors ALWAYS writes the history). Antiochus IV Epiphanes had no reason to slaughter a pig on the Temple altar because he was already ruling and he allowed the Jews the freedom of their religion. The Hasmoneans wanted Antiohus gone BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO RULE; so, they stirred up a rebellion and made up that story to garner the support of the people against Antiochus. That's why they had to gain control of the Temple. Please research this topic more deeply. The Book of Maccabees is not included in most Bible Canon for a reason. The Jew-ish haven't included it in their canon--that alone should make you wonder. The scriptures do state that Yahusha was in the Temple's courtyard during the Festival of Lights, but it does not explicitly state that he was observing the Feast Day. I believe he was there because it was an opportunity to spread the Truth of the 'Gospel.' The Bible only mentions Yahusha as being 'in' the temple on three occasions: once, when he was twelve; twice when he was cleansing the temple by turning over the tables of the money changers and merchants; and thrice, during the "Festival of Lights,' when he ultimately had to leave because the Jews were going to stone him to death for speaking the Truth per the mission that was given him by the Father; hence, the reason for his birth and subsequent death.
