I love how instead of Soos making up with his father, (like most shows would have had him do,) he decides that if his father doesn't care about him, then he's not worth it. It's a very mature, and sadly realistic decision. Also, Soos definitely made the best time wish possible.

It's surprisingly groundbreaking even. If your parent is a bad person you don't have to fight for them, it's healthier to cut them off. So many older shows and cartoons have had INCREDIBLY toxic morals, like excusing literally abusive parents. "He's your dad, who cares that he yells at you, you need to love him". I'm glad we're moving away from that.

The big thing that this episode really reinforces is how much Soos cares about the pines family. Soos considers Stan as his father way more than his actual father.

In truth, this episode is incredibly important because it's actually Bill Cipher's origin story. The slice of infinite pizza eventually gains sentience and grows to resent his existence, and comes to hate Soos and everyone in the Mystery Shack... After falling into a barrel of radioactive waste that Stan had lying around for some reason, he gained magical powers and a demonic form, and tracked down Blendin Blandin to get his help to travel back in time and start his over-complicated scheme to get revenge on the Pines family and all who wronged him. Not for some reason. Soos found the barrel of radioactive waste after Grunkle Stan carried it up from the basement portal after it fell into their world from the Rick and Morty universe. Stan wanted to throw it out but Soos noticed it was a great way to get rid of garbage. So he kept it. That was in a short though so I get why you missed it. RIP all the sandwiches that accidentally get knocked into it though. Soos is the best sandwich maker of Gravity Falls.

It's weird that they didn't mention the third part of Soos' wish in this episode, which was giving Stan a non-cleft chin. Considering how important that becomes later in the season when you find out *why* he wished for that.

Fun fact! "Globnar" was created by Soos his son after he heard Soos accidentally choke on a slice of pizza. The son was young at the time so he thought Soos said Globnar, but he remembered it and made it the name of all the life-and-death-games based on Soos's favorite games. Mood's stories about the apocalypse are so much fun.

To add to the point about doing something you think is nice but it becomes a selfish act; this is a huge reason why open and clear communication is so important. If you just let things go too long it can sow seeds of resentment between people who otherwise just want the best for eachother. happens all the time.

Time Baby was hinted at way back in the episode with the 10th and a half president. When you paused to read a page from the journal, it said something about a giant baby stuck in a glacier. Also, Soos eventually (offscreen) eats the pizza slice in one bite to see if it still regenerates. It does not.

This episode really spoke to me, and I understand how Soos felt. My father was already married to his first wife and had 2 sons when he met my mom in basic training. Long story short I'm the product of a one-night stand and was ignored until my dad remarried when I was 18 (he also had another daughter with his first wife some years after I was born). My mom raised me as a single parent, and I didn't meet him until I was 8 years old. It was just that one time and I talked to him for like a day and a half. His family either knew about me but didn't want anything to do with me or they don't know to this day that I exist. Things have gotten slightly better since he remarried his second wife 10 years ago, however he is in neutral territory -- I don't hate him (anymore) but I don't like him either.

Like always, you seem to be on the right track! Sure, Time Baby is not what he seems, but he's not Gideon. It's actually Bill Cipher reincarnated and becoming back to battle himself in the past(fulfilling time law). This combined with his origin as the slice of infinite pizza as someone else mentioned, makes this an incredibly important episode lore-wise Plus, it gives Soos some backstory and character arc. A slice of infinite pizza is unironically the best wish. Pizza is great, infinite pizza is infinitely better. Even if it was something basic like regular cheese or pepperoni it'd be pretty great, but especially if you could just like, choose to have it turn into whatever kind you're craving. Also others said it already, but Soos deciding that if his father doesn't care about him then he's not worth it was a really nice and mature angle for the story to take. Also I really love that we got 2 episodes going more into Soos's character

Even Blendin is a Mabel-hater. When the twins arrive he states that they "stole his time device to win the stupid pig." That's 100% inaccurate. Mabel had already won Waddles before Dipper "commandeered" Blendin's time device to fix things with Wendy. Dipper then made many, many anomalies trying to get things right. The Mabel hate never ends. 🙁

10:30 Yeah my dad who turned 50 just yesterday seems to have a crush on a girl he met somewhat recently (like a year ago or so). She’s quite a bit younger then him but he says he hasn’t felt this way since he met my mom. You can tell he really cares about her (unlike some of the guys my mom has been seeming where when she talks about them half the time it sounds like she just wants free dinner) and it’s kind of wholesome to hear him describe how they’ve been supportive of each other. Actually, in season 1 episode 8 Dipper and Mabel discovered that Nathaniel Northwest was not the actual founder of Gravity Falls, but president Quentin Trembley. In the writings about the actual Nathaniel Northwest, you can read a reference about a giant time devouring baby being frozen in ice in Antarctica, waiting to be set free by global warming. In fact, I'm pretty sure that you did read this, as I remember.... So.... TADAAAAAAAAAAHHHH !!!!

For age difference, I usually go with half the age of the older person + 7, as the minimum age of the younger person. If I feel generous, I might go with +6, though that still leaves 12-year olds only dating other 12-year olds (to address Dipper's situation).

I always figured the general rule when you're younger to be divide your current age by two and add 7 and this is the minimum age of person you should date. Obviously other things apply like it's alright for a 16 or 17 year old to like an 18 year old and vice-versa, just keep things low-key until you both are 18 then you're all good
