I'm playing a campaign where our Druid's dad has the tree teleport/walk spell, and so as she leveled up she knew she could learn it. This whole time she has been keeping a tree journal in-game (and in her IRL notes) for that very thing. This last session we levelled high enough that she now has it, and we had a bit of "jumping across the continent" shenanigans that our DM didn't prepare for.

Canonically: Very rarely, and usually with dragons of the same elemental/color type. The white dragon here (Vorugal) is wooing another white dragon (Gelidon) by bringing her increasingly deadly kills to show his skill and strength, and therefore his value as a gene contributor of eggs. But dragons rarely stay with their chosen mates, they'll live separately and only meet up to make eggs or exchange kill counts (or treasure, if affectionate). We learn about Gelidon in a Critical Role livestream bonus question episode, I forgot which one they confirmed it in.

There is a great moment that is a nod to the actual game, when Grog rages and attacks one of the dragons and basically bounces off and breaks his axe. In the real game, Travis Willingham attacked and rolled to hit, added up the roll and bonuses and said he got (i think) a 21 or 22. Matt Mercer looked at him and said "you miss" and Travis looked stunned... and terrified lol

Grog's (failed) attack on the dragon is almost a direct interpretation of the moment on stream where he attacked with a 19 to hit the dragon, and was told that 19 misses. Everybody at the table slowly lost it for a sec. "Let's wipe out the whole castle!" Yeah, that wasn't "the castle." That was the Cloudtop District, where the rich and powerful live. Or, used to live. Anyway, dragons eventually develop the ability to see through illusions (and invisibility). Tricking them is difficult. If you think this is as tense as it can get, you're gonna be amazed by the rest of seasons 2 and 3. When the dragons attacked in the stream, it was like an hour and a half or two hours of descriptions of destruction and everybody running away. Stretched over two episodes...

@@tomasjallen I am very aware. I’m only pointing out that the OC’s correction isn’t quite right. They said it wasn’t “the Castle” and that it was the Cloudtop District. I argue that the Cloudtop District is basically a giant castle.

There are two different forms of dragons, chromatic, and metallic, these 4 are chromatic they are evil dragons and they get the name chromatic because of their colors Red, Green, Blue, Black and White, and it's strange for 4 dragons to be working together that's really never happened. The metallic dragons are good dragons and they can be just as powerful as the chromatics, their colors are, Gold, Bronze, Copper, Silver, and Brass. And their are even gods for both forms of dragons for the evil it's Tiamat she's got five heads one for each of the chromatic colors. For the Metallic there is Bahamut he's the Platinum Dragon and it's said that in his human form he travels with 5 canaries which are actually Gold dragons in disguise.

***SPOILERS BELOW*** As someone whom is familiar with CR's 3 main campaigns, I'm not at all surprised by the pacing and density of both seasons, neither of which has detracted from the show for me thus far. Also, the way I like to think about it as my kind of 'head canon', is that this is how Scanlan is retelling the adventures of Vox Machina in the future (or present, depending on how you look at it), as bards are want to do, they leave out inconvient details that would hinder the story telling, they embellish others to excite, and sometimes, they leave things exactly how they were, because it deserves respect. It's kind of a meta way of coping with the fact that we never will get a 1:1 translation of the campaign to animation, because it simply isn't feasible, nor would it be watchable for newcomers, and there would be nothing new for long time fans of the campaigns. Also, I would not be surprised if at the end of this campaigns run in animation (hopefully the go all the way with 5/6 seasons covering the major arcs), that it indeed was present/future Scanlan retelling the story of Vox Machina to a crowd of people in a tavern as one of the last shots of the series, with hints at what is to come in The Mighty Nein and Bell's Hells, but we'll see.
