@@MrsRealistic Another good one for hearing some of Avi's sound effects is "Bohemian Rhapsody." It's a real tour de force for Pentatonix: at least three Mitch slap moments, an Avi-lanche, and, oh yes, it's one of the songs where you can occasionally see Kevin's invisible drum kit. (What, you didn't know Kevin actually has a drum kit? You can see it any time they're all seated and the camera shows the entire group, not just the current soloist. He'll reach out with an invisible drum stick and hit, say, an invisible snare drum, and you'll hear the snare drum. You know he's making the sound with his mouth, but you just SAW him hit a snare drum! It quickly becomes surreal. One of the things I like most about Kevin is that he can make me see the instruments that aren't there.)

When this came out, and Avi announced you could download the sheet music, my daughter''s HS Chamber Choir did just that. They performed it for their spring concert! That was soooo cool. lol. Yes, Avi does add more than just bass, and has some sound effects in this and other songs as well.

This was before Mitch became comfortable with his true self. He hadn't realized how good and unique he is, and was afraid of coming out publicly, and expressing his fashion sense. Afterwards, he became a fashionista, designing many of his later looks.

Last year we were on a tour that included Haarlem in the Netherlands. As we walked by the finish compound of a half-marathon, I heard ‘Technologic’ and thought that Europeans like electronica. Then I realized it was PTX’ Daft Punk. Can’t get much more mainstream than that.

Avi does occasionally add sounds, but then again, they all do. While Avi (now Matt) and Kevin are the rhythm section supporting the main vocalists, they also contribute to the singing at times. It’s all about what is best for the song. Run To You is probably not the song you are thinking of. Their Run To You is one of their originals and it is beautiful! It needs a reaction.

At least the contacts didn't make you respond like some reactors: "They're staring into my soul!" Their follow-up to this, Love Again, is another EDM style song (but a PTX original!), and the costumes and makeup are a lot more outrageous for everyone. Kirstin steals the costume prize in that one, even though Mitch (and Avi, and Kevin) take the vocal prize(s). This mashup contains 7 Daft Punk songs: Technologic, One More Time, Get Lucky, Digital Love, Harder-Better-Faster-Stronger, Television Rules the Nation, Around the World. FYI: Daft Punk finally broke up in 2021, so they were around for nearly 30 years - quite the career!

I was also to Daft Punk, and was looking for news, when this "Daft Punk" with blue eyes popped up and I thought the name of the song was "Pentatonix", and it must be new, les than 50.000 views, I must hear it. That was last time I looked for Daft Punk news, I was now a Pentaholic. ❤ And that was back in 2012.
