Cucumbers really love hot days as long as you irrigate it. I have noticed that in some really hot days sprinklers have a better result compare to dripping, it is curious cause it seems they like water in the leaves too.

I know lots of sources will say water on leaves can burn, but I have always found the opposite: it cools surface temp quickly and reduces stress on plants trying to self mitigate heat.

Another factor that comes into play with the triple digit temperatures, is the black plastic that keeps out the weeds around your cucumbers that actually absorbs heat instead of reflecting it. A straw mulch around the plants would cool down the ground temperature a little bit, but with triple digit temps plants start to go into shutdown if it continues day after day mulch wouldn't help much. It's good that you are able to harvest now, hope you get cooler temps, and some rain soon!

Hi Andrew. Thanks for sharing so much.... I’m sure you’ve seen the happenings in the Netherlands with the farmers..... the same situation will probably be coming here. There is a lot of information on a site called Clash of Minds 126.... Vertical farming is mentioned with a couple,of names you can Google. Control of the population is one of the goals. You seem so isolated where you are but farmlands are being bought up by the likes of Gates, the Chinese and others. The Bible tells of a time of trouble such as there was or would be on the earth.. We are very close to it as I’m sure you can see in the news. I’m aware you can say nothing about this online. That’s where we are time wise. A great book that covers all this and much more is the book The Great Controversy (between Christ and Satan) by EG white written over 100 years ago. Take care my friends - love to you all!

this is how life was in the US before WWI and WWII. familys stayed and worked together. guess it was the civil war that started the first break down of the family farm unit in the south east. not saying freeing the skaves was bad, because it was not. just saying it did intenify the the begining of war breaking up our family units and breaking down the family structure of life and religion.

@thefreshwater27272 жыл бұрын
@@maryybarra4841 Just FYI; God calls for the seventh day sabbath in the Fourth commandment in exodus 20. The Catholic system changed the sabbath to the first day of the week (Sunday). Who do we want to follow, God or man? A beast in prophecy is a religio/political system such as the papacy. The mark of this beast is Sunday worship. The seal of God is found in the fourth commandment. A seal contains three items; The name of the authority (God), the title of the authority (Creator) and the territory of the authority (Heaven, earth and the seas)..... We have the freedom to accept the mark of the beast or the seal of God. It is a life or death choice. The Seal of God will be on you if you are in the Book of Life; the Mark of The Beast will be on you if you accept the dictates of the papacy. Look into it if you will. God gives you freedom of choice. The papacy will and has forced people to follow her dictates. Remember the Dark Ages. The pope has stated that he hates both our constitution and individualism. That says a lot. He wants compliance and “unity”..... If you have unity with compromise you have lost your doctrine to the Roman Church. Shalom my friend.

Hi Veggie boys and Girls! Love the channel! Thanks for sharing so much knowledge, more people need to learn to grow there own food. Can you provide more tips for the tiny gardeners? How come your hot peppers don't cross pollinate and make the sweeter peppers hot? I made the mistake of growing cayenne peppers and jalapenos together, my jalapenos were way to hot that year I couldn't eat them.
@theveggieboys2 жыл бұрын
I’ll try in the future :)

peppers that are grown together and cross-pollinate only have the genes from the parents in the seeds. so in order to actually get a cross-bred cayenne/jalapeno, you would have had to grow the seeds from the cross-pollinated pepper out. jalapenos can have varying heat levels, you must have just gotten the higher end of the scale
@leahwithheld7832 жыл бұрын
Like Bruce said, it's not the neighboring cayennes, but often a bit of stress. For example, dry, hot weather makes for spicy, hot peppers.
