Lightsum is the new CLC, unfortunately. Cube doesn't know how to manage their groups. They also have no idea about creative direction and they just throw random concepts for the girls in every single comeback. They debuted with a very bubbly and colorful vibe (Vanilla), then they went for a IZ*ONE concept (Vivace), then they went for a teen fresh concept (Alive and Honey or Spice) and now they are back with a more mature and kinda "sexy but innocent" concept with Pose. Everything is very messy and I feel very sorry for the girls. They are all so gorgeus and talented and they deserve a lot better than that. Honestly, if it wasn't for Soyeon I think that GIDLE also would be in a similar situation because Cube is a very incompetent company.

I wanted to stan Lightsum after knowing Chowon was in it. I also found Nayoung to be very talented. I did not like Vanilla, but liked Vivace. After that they got in a hiatus and I forgot about them. Then they made Alive and I liked it, and they had another hiatus. Now I have lost interest in them. Lightsum used to have some buzz during Vanilla and Vivace era and they lost it due to them never promoting. They also don’t have a solid group identity, so easy to lose interest in them.

I also think the company doesn't know what to do with the group. I liked their debut and first comeback, and I already knew many members, but they definitely got left behind and the long breaks didn't help. When they were on the Queendom puzzle show I was excited too but I feel like the company fumbled that opportunity too. The girls are really talented but it seems like the company is trying to push them into being oversexualized eventually so they wanted to get rid of the younger members (after their last comeback more and more creepy fan cam channels are posting the members because of the outfits and parts of the dance, I feel like the company wanted that to happen which makes me upset).

Thats what I'd like to know too tbh. According to their sales at least, they sell about as well as Nowadays (the new boy group), worse than Gidle (but they are really an exception tbh) but better than CLC, I'm not going to count 4Minute here because they are a 2nd gen group. Then again, I think one of the Gidle members said (or it's at least been rumored) that the company only focuses on whoever is selling the most so that could be true. I wish them all the best :)

Cube Entertainment still have BTOB and Pentagon as their active boy groups in 2021, but (G) i-dle is their only active girl group back then as Cube Entertainment already informed CLC members that Cube Entertainment would not support any further group activities of CLC beyond the end of 2020. So Cube Entertainment would have debuted a new girl group before a new boy group at that point anyway.

Cube seems like the type of company that's good at selecting members, but seems kind of used to their groups just managing themselves. Their most successful groups all had members that did the heavy lifting when it came to concepts, music direction, and developing a group identity, bonus if self producing, seems lightsum, like CLC, struggles with that, so Cube don't know what to do with them.

Regarding about CLC. Trash Cube clearly knew what to do with them - To ruin them. After the success of Hobgoblin that opened up the oversea market, especially USA. CLC had clearly wanted trash Cube to anchor the group in Girl Crush concept but the stubborn trash Cube still gave them and us, Where Are You, which stopped their momentum. CLC had to restart with Black Dress and of course the infamous sale of La Vie En Rose to IZONE. It even forbade CLC to attend an invitational event in USA. Even though CLC Sorn was willing to foot the bills for the air tickets, trash Cube sent (G)-idle. Who knows ? K/DA might be sung by CLC instead of (G)-idle. Maybe perhaps of this that Soyeon co-composed the song, No, with CLC Yeeun and gave to CLC. The rest was history.....Hope Lightsum would not be mistreated, mismanaged and abandoned like CLC.

I waited for Juhyeon to debut ever since the Unit. She is one of the best if not the best dancer in the entire, and a lot of the contestants had prior experience already but she still shined. Hopefully the group will find success one day

When Cube rushed to debut Lightsum in 2021, I'm sure they were certain that I-DLE's career as a group was over and they probably even thought that their fanbase would gradually transition to support LS instead. But I-DLE came back in 2022 stronger than ever and haven't stopped since. Suddenly, CUBE was stuck and it's not like they were ever good at managing several acts at the same time. But they will surely lose I-DLE next year when their contracts end, still don't know what to do w/Lightsum and Nowadays, but apparently are already thinking of debuting a new girl group next year. I actually like this group. Skill wise, they have good dancers here as well as performers,good charisma & personality made for variety. Vocals are still lacking even the main vocalists but they can still handle what is given to them, rappers are ok. Their songs are also good especially alive & i. I just hate how they removed the younger members just to make them do a little bit sexy concept. Usually, this kind of marketing can exploit each members by targeting a certain demography to exploit them sexually. They now have 21+ members but its evident how they're trying hard to push some of the members to look more seductive when they have 3 members who suits more bubbly concept. I'm just worried that this new concept is gonna exploit them in bad way. I want the girls to get big domestically & have their own fame & achievements & I also want them to focus on their musical asset especially the vocals & rap. They are good & does have good choreos & good stamina & have visuals. They need to take advantage of the media, I'll give them a pass to jump into the trends as long as it can help them.

There’s no way Chowon could have gone to (G)I-DLE. You’re talking about an already well-established group, selling thousands of albums, and being one of the leading groups of the 4th generation. On the other hand, with CLC, it was a group that never quite succeeded, and maybe Eunbin and Elkie were the key to their success. I agree that it’s not always the company’s fault- not all groups can be popular- but like you said, they had Chowon and other members who were already well-known as trainees. Plus, coming from such a powerful company like Cube, the fact that they didn’t succeed as expected wasn’t due to "luck" or because "the group wasn’t grpuping." It was due to poor decisions made by the company, and I explained all of this in the video: bad timing for their debut, constant changes in concept, hiatuses, and kicking out two members. For me, that’s the company’s fault, and these are things that caused Lightsum not to be as successful.

I do not understand the op point of comparing CLC adding Eunbin to the group versus the hypothetical situation of adding Chowon of (G) i-dle. Soojin alleged incident occurred in early 2021. (G) i-dle has already existed for 2 and a 1/2 years already with ot6 up to that point. Any members added to (G) i-dle as replacement for Soojin would receive negative backlash from their fans. There is no reason to add a recognizable name like Chowon to (G) i-dle as Soojin replacement in early 2021. If in theory Cube Entertainment wished to add Chowon to (G) i-dle and capitalize on her recognizable name value, the only time they could add her on the group was right after Produce 48 ended and not in 2021. For Eunbin case, it is known that Cube Entertainment was always going to add Eunbin to CLC. In fact, the addition of Eunbin to CLC lineup was handled by Cube Entertainment in such a messy manner that CLC has never been able to capitalize on any popularity of Eunbin from her participation on Produce 101 Season 1. Because of the leaking of the information of Eunbin that she was going to be added to CLC after Produce 101 Season 1 before the last episode, Eunbin ranking plummeted to last place on that elimination round on the show and was eliminated. Since Eunbin was still signed to Mnet with her participation on Produce 101 Season 1, she was forbidden from joining or participating on any of the promotional activities such as joining any performance on any music programs or variety shows of CLC High Heels comeback even though she was already included in the MV. She can only officially joined CLC on any CLC promotional activities beginning from the next CLC comeback of No Oh Oh, but by then her recognition and popularity that Eunbin gained from her participation on Produce 101 Season 1 has faded.

They did upload a lot of KZbin videos, but in the end, no one really subscribes to K-pop channels unless they feature their favorite artists. So, those KZbin videos probably didn’t bring them many new fans.
