Have you ever made a mistake at the poker table that haunted you forever? Well, I doubt that mistake cost you over $100,000! In this poker hand from the Hustler Casino live stream, J.R. and Hanks found themselves in a massive all-in pot preflop, and Hanks made an outrageous mistake that you will not believe!
Generally, when there is significant preflop action in front of you, like an early position open and a 3-bet, and you are holding a medium pocket pair, you must be very selective with your 4-bet all-in range. Even if you think the opener is loose, the 3-bettor will generally be strong and will only call you when you are crushed, so folding could be the better option.
Hustler Casino Live is a full-scale, high-value poker production. Close to a million dollars was spent transforming the casino’s high-limit poker room, the Crystal Room, into the set of this new state-of-the-art live show. Hustler Casino Live looks more like coverage of a TV broadcast sporting event and appeals to those beyond the poker community. Unscripted and unedited, they host regular poker streams such as ‘Max Pain Monday’ and ‘Thirsty Thursday’. Some of the most notable poker players to have appeared on the show are Phil Ivey ‘The Tiger Woods of Poker’ ‘RaiseOnce’, Tom Dwan ’durrrr’, Phil Hellmuth ‘The Poker Brat’, Chris Moneymaker, Doug Polk ‘WCGRider, Garrett Adelstein ‘Gman’, Tony Guoga ‘Tony G’ and many more.
This 24-hour poker stream took place on 1st December 2023 and aimed to be the first-ever 24-hour cash game live stream. Blinds started at $100/$200 with a $200 big blind ante but with straddles. Action was driven and stakes were raised with popular formats such as the stand-up game and the 72o game being played throughout the stream. This high stakes poker game featured players such as J.R., Matt Hanks, Nik Airball, Alan Keating, Brandon Stevens, Charles Yu, Professor, Andy Tsai ‘Andy Stacks’, Sashimi, Santosh Suvarna, Jboogs, Jibrael, Stanley Tang, Pennzoil Don, Pepe, and Mo.
No player played poker for the entire 24 hours, but Hanks played for the most at 19 hours, then Alan Keating with 16.5 hours closely followed by Nik Airball with 15.5 hours.
🔍
Charles raises to $6,000 from the hijack with A5o and faces a 3-bet to $18,000 by J.R. in the cutoff with pocket tens. Next to act on the button is Hanks who chooses to 4-bet rip his entire stack of $110,200 all-in with pocket nines. After the blinds and Charles fold, J.R. makes the call. The two high-stakes cash game poker players agree to run the board out twice, and what happens after the runouts will make your jaw drop.
You would be crazy to miss the outcome of this hand, so watch the entire poker video now!
Jonathan Little analyzes live poker hands from TV poker shows such as Poker After Dark, Hustler Casino Live, The Lodge Poker Club & PokerGO. He also analyzes popular poker vloggers such as Rampage Poker, Brad Owen, Jaman Burton, Ashley Sleeth, Wolfgang Poker and others!
You will also find many poker hands on this channel that contain some of the biggest names in the poker world such as; Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Doug Polk, Garrett Adelstein, Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan, Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Fedor Holz & many more!

Yesterday I played a home tournment, with no deallers, sitting about 35bb deep I got A9o in the big blind after I saw everybody folded I just tuened over the ace thinking I got a walk, and went to take down the dead chips, when somebody suddenly said "hey there's a raise over there" looking to my left I saw the utg+1 actually with cards and raising chips in front of her... the players at the table thought that since I showed 1 of my cards with the intention to fold, then it should be a fold, but I called the home owner who decided that I can play this hand with the open card, of course I called the raise 2.4bb, and the flop came 9 high, she cbet 1.7bb into 6.3 I raised her to 4bb with my top top, and she called. turn a Q and I continue with 7bb bet she minraised me to 14bb I could't fold for this price, another 9 on the river and I put the rest of my chips in, she quickly called (probably with an over pair) and I got a double up despite my mistake preflop..

No for two reasons, 1. it is always your responsibility to table your hand, 2 we have seen on every live stream, the RFID readers show incorrect cards so even with what we "saw" we don't know 100% that the reader was correct.

I was sitting next to a good buddy who had a Full-House on the turn, and he KNEW he had a FH. He put it all-in on the turn & got called. After the river was reveiled, the opponent flipped over and showed a FLUSH which got there only ON the River. My buddy said, oh, you got there, and mucked his OWN Full-Hand, FACE-DOWN to the dealer. When the Dealer dragged in my buddy's Hole-Cards, I had to sit there and KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT, until the Dealer finished the business awarding the pot. ONLY THEN was it proper to speak up. I had seen his Hole-Cards, and said, "'why did you muck the Full-Boat?'" He said, "'I thought a Flush beats a Book, for some stupid reason.'" YES, under pressure with ALL YOUR FUNDS in the middle, you can make STUPID mistakes. ALWAYS table your hand just in case your judgement is offf for some stupid reason.

I recently played a hand where I had AQ, flopped Ace, bet flop and turn and opponent called, board paired a 7 on river and I checked it to the opponent who bet small and I called, she said “I just have a deuce”. I heard, “I have seven deuce” Annoyed at what I thought I heard, I mucked the winning hand for a sizable pot. HUGE BLUNDER were the words I kept hearing in J Littles Voice in my head. I’ve had a tough time letting this one go.

I played my first ever casino poker tournament last week. In the small blind I said call and put in the value of the big blind. What I’d not noticed is early position had already shoved. Floor was called and I had to put in chips to call the shove. I had 83 off. Bb was chip leader. ‘Sorry’ he said, before re-shoving. Obviously I couldn’t call 😔. Lesson learned

Every stake you play you always have to read your own hand (unless your opponent is nice enough to do it for you). If he mucks it, its a loss no matter what. To add to that, he kept his hand hidden when his opponent showed (and asked to run it twice after seeing his opponents hand), which is not the best etiquette imo

I had a worse spot ( not monetarily). Tabled my hand in a streamed PLO game. The floor came over so him and the dealer dealt with the pot, I didn't pay attention. They split the pot. A month later a buddy texts me and says hey, did you see what they did to you? The floor effed up, the dealer didn't say anything, and the whole table of which a few were seasoned pros kept their mouth shut. 15-20k € pot that was. The video is probably still online.

At some time in our poker "careers", MOST of us have misread our hand, AT LEAST ONCE!!! After watching a BRUTAL situation (guy next to me mucked the winner), I've always turned my hand over.... the cards speak for themselves. Unless, of course, it's OBVIOUS I've lost (4/5 hearts, the board is 5 BLACK cards above an 8, with no str8 , or flush, on the board)

What a nightmare. I did this once in an obviously smaller pot, but a big one for that game way back then. I had KJ suited and two pair BUT also a straight draw. I kind of knew I needed the straight draw, or I felt like I did. We got all the money in, he called my jam and showed me bottom set so in my head I was like "c'mon NINE!" J comes off on the river and for whatever reason I muck my cards immediately. I was so looking for the A or the 9 that I didn't even clock that a J did the trick too. 700 bucks gone. Face palm

Heh, I watch poker clips on KZbin, but it's not like I know a lot of these players. I only know of Hanks from the clip of winning a hand against Eric Persson who didn't know there was a flush draw on the full board and exposed a king to hide his straight. So now the only two hands I've ever seen Hanks play involve a player not realizing a flush was made.

I mucked a BIG chop one time. This type of mistake can happen when you've already resigned yourself to losing the hand. Remember Ivey mucking his winning flush in the Main Event? I don't like to show my cards, but now I take my time before mucking. Last week I I shoved with pocket tens and thought for sure I was toast looking at the run out. My opponent showed an ace high flush. Before mucking my cards, I checked one last time and saw I made a straight flush on the river!

The commentators shouldn't interfere on the spot on their own, but I do think, because this is such a special situation (a popular stream), there should be some pre-game conversation on this, and the producers and the players should all agree on what to do in such a situation. If all the players don't mind, then the commentators can say something.

I always ALWAYS show my cards once its decided how many times we are gonna run it, for this exact reason, this actually happened last night, in a PLO hand I had J/10/3/3 and I was looking for the straight on the flop, 6/8/9 the and 8 and 9 were hearts, Turn 6 of hearts, villain goes all in, I call because I'm a donk and I table my hand face up, river... 6. Villain has J/10/Qh/Ah suited for a Ace high flush on the turn... I said "nice hand", but thankfully the player next to me stopped the dealer as he was pushing the chips to the villain, and wiggled my 3/3 on the table and saved my hand!
