Hill hold assist, also known as hill start assist or hill start control, is a feature commonly found in modern vehicles, especially those equipped with manual transmissions or automatic transmissions with a manual mode. It is designed to assist drivers when starting a vehicle on an incline or hill.
When a vehicle is parked on a slope, engaging the clutch or releasing the brake pedal can cause the vehicle to roll backward before the engine power is sufficient to move it forward. This can make it challenging for drivers to smoothly start the vehicle without rolling back or stalling.
Hill hold assist helps prevent the vehicle from rolling back by automatically applying the brakes for a short period after the driver releases the brake pedal. This gives the driver enough time to transition their foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal and apply enough throttle to move the vehicle forward without rolling backward.
The hill hold assist system typically utilizes sensors, such as the brake pedal position sensor and the vehicle's incline sensors, to detect when the vehicle is on an incline. Once the system detects an incline, it engages the brakes to hold the vehicle in place momentarily, usually for a few seconds, until the driver applies sufficient throttle or engages the clutch to start moving forward.

Hi Bro it is Hill start assist not hill hold assist..... Hill hold assist comes in automatic cars which holds the car in hills without time limit. ( in automatic cars brakes will apply automatically and will relase based on acceleration no time limit in on state)

@@autotrendtamil hi sir , i visited 2 showrooms , in one they said yes and in another they said esp is available but hill hold not available. In Broucher also never mentioned. I know the punch facelift is in line up . But due to some reasons we can't wait . Currently we shortlisted magnite/Kiger , punch and Baleno . My wife felt comfortable seating in Kiger/ magnite and punch only . Due to service we are afraid of Kiger or magnite , but for punch i am worrying about hill hold assist . Can you please double confirm one more time please ? Thank you .
