The title intrigued me, because many years ago, probably 20 years by now, I was a flight attendant, I had a flight to Osaka. I wanted to buy Koi and somehow I had an address were a Koibreeder lived. In the outskirts of Osaka. It was amazing and I bought twelve small Kois. Two of them didn't survive the long trip home and another two died within the first week in my pond. But the other 8 lived many years. I was very proud of them, though they were not prize winners.

When I lived in Honolulu in the 1960s, I attended an international koi show and one koi sold for over a million dollars! I can’t imagine what that would be in today’s dollars! Koi usually live 25-35 years but one lived to be 226 years old! The show champion in Hawaii when I went was supposed to have perfect markings- I’d like to think it’s still alive and just a very old koi!

I'm not really into all the Koi, but I've been brought up around them ever since I was born. My mother's fiancee travels to Japan twice a year and we have a few hundred Japanese Koi. They are very gorgeous, fascinating fish.

I am bored and raised in Sacramento, we had no idea such high quality is local. My mother native to Hawaii has wanted to get Koi and start a pong. Your voice is so easy to listen to and the quality footage was very enjoyable. :) I kept thinking that wow, there are people that someday can watch this video and go "look, there is my fish!" And see what kind of people raised him or her. :) I will always wish I had koi in my life but not sure if I ever will be able to. I breed cattle though and I could somewhat relate on seeing a whole "crop" of animals and suddenly go "whoa look at that one!" In a way that didn't show as clearly when they were more spread out with moms in the fields but next to eachother it shows and some of them can stand out in this incredible way that I think can't be explained to those that have never felt it! I could tell too that these breeders have over a very long period of time valued good mentality as well besides good looks and I tend to think it says a lot about a great person when they are breeders with good mentality animals! No matter the species.

My husband and I bought six 2 and a half inches . They were in a fish tank on top of our fridge . We then built a large pond in the back yard . It was 14 ft long 6ft wide by 5 ft deep at the deepest. In3 years our koi grew to 9 inches . They are very smart fish .we fed them fish pellets
