This has been the best series of interviews I have seen with a tour pro, superb, warts an all.

This is my favorite podcast out of all of Ricks podcasts. This guy is so genuine and likes me, just a great story. This one blows away the much heralded Bryson interview.

I absolutely loved this 2 part interview. The excitement in Rick asking great in-depth questions and James’s willingness to offer a genuine answer made this a gem.

I have really enjoyed these podcasts with James, such a decent, down to earth guy and some fabulous insights into the serious end of golf.

Really amazing podcast Rick, a big thanks to James for being so open, speaking about the Open. I think it is the fact that it is many a golfers dream to qualify exemplified by Rick getting excited and we are all in the shoes of James and "the what could have been" moment at the 7th hole.

Been a joy to watch this series, such a normal, likeable bloke who lets you into the mindset of a top player who like any average club golfer fights his own demons and emotions. Wish him all the best for the future. Could be a great career in other platforms presenting, youtube, social media in my book - he’s that watchable and has you hooked on what he’s saying.

Briliant! What so many of us want to know. And Rick's genuine delight at asking and James' straightforward honesty make for such good entertainment. Congratulations all round! ps I am still wondering how on earth a 'head high' 3 iron is ever a go to shot. I can only dream!

I was a 5hcp yrs ago and played a 75 yr old guy for money. I hit all 7 fairways, hit 8 greens putted ok. He hit 2 greens and chipped in 2times to win 1up. His longest putt was maybe 30 inches. Just a witch.

This really is a great series. It really is amazing that someone can be that good and just not quite make it to the big stage. It’s also interesting to know that there is a tall, slender, good looking James Robinson that’s also a golfer on KZbin.

First round of the club championship (B section mind) and I had so much tension in my shoulders and knees felt proper wobbly on the first tee... If I could multiply that up to the 1st tee of the Open that would likely be; a dry wrenching barf behind the starters ‘booth’, possibly a ‘shart’ (white trousers obv) and a really loud and bad obscenity as I’ve topped the 3 wood for safety 30 feet just past the red tees. (worse than a F Bomb picked up on the microphones leaving the TV bosses no option but to release a statement to the media and self referring to Ofcom. )

Great story. I can only imagine being so upset with your play that you zone out the fact that you're playing in a major. I was playing harbour town and was a two or three over par on the front and was looking to continue the good play on the back but hooked one into the water on 10, hit my drop crappy to the right and then hit this tree that like overhangs the green on the right side. Think I carded a 7. Next couple holes I just remember being so pissed about 10 but then realized how much you pay for these courses and got my crap together and enjoyed the rest of the round.

It would be interesting to get a perspective on the Hybrid/3 Iron issue, whether if he had had a caddie with a longer established professional relationship, to guide towards the correct club choice, would have made him reconsider.

Give it another go. Teaching is also very nice but a player needs to play. Surely it is super hard and all but it is sort of hard to see a swing like that go to ‘waste’. Qualify & teach online to generate income whilst on tour. This has probably gone through your mind before and if so I do apologize.
