What Is Jamais Vu? In psychology, jamais vu is a French term meaning "never seen", refers to the phenomenon of experiencing a situation that one recognizes in some fashion, but nonetheless seems very unfamiliar. I like that term. And yes, it has happened to me. Most notably in bootcamp with the word, and this might sound horrible, but it's Marine Corps Bootcamp. "Kill." We said that word all day, everyday. I would sit on my rack at night repeating it, and it would lose all meaning.

I got called my name and it was so weird because it was almost like my name was unfamiliar like i was aware it was my name but at the same time it just wasnt....it was so weird lol 😭

Yes that has happened to me I didn't do the experiment but as a person who thinks about minutiae quite a lot I have had that occurrence happened to me. It's almost funny and it's almost scary.

This happens to me all the time! Occasionally that happens to me when I'm writing emails at work and i have to google the word i don't recognize to see what it means. So strange! I never told anyone because i thought they would think i was crazy.

One time, I pranked my mom into what I would now call an "extended Jamais Vu". I moved everything, I mean everything in the house just a couple of centimeters to the right. When she got home it really messed with her. It was pretty hilarious. Interesting video!
