As you mentioned, one thing I am looking forward to is some innovation in wood choices. It'll be interesting to see the whiskies that come out of Japan over the next decade

Just discovered this channel and like it a lot. I am a big whisky fan (need) and even though I must admit I drink mostly scotch and Scandinavian whisky. I live in Japan since long back and I find the cultural aspects as interesting as the whisky subject. I hope to see more of this

Very nice video, thank you! I just wonder whether maturation in climates that allow for faster extraction of compounds from the wood is really comparable to slower maturation in more moderate climates, as I'm sure that additive maturation is only one factor of a holistic ageing process. I'm looking forward to watching the other videos on this channel and for the ones to come!

Great take on the "terroir" question (& yes I'm French, so a bit sensitive about it's use & abuse....got a video about this question you might wanna see, it made a producer very angry, btw...).

Thanks Greg. I tried to present all viewpoints in a balanced way. My background is Mathematics and Physics, so I wear a very analytical hat when looking at the science, but I'm also a human being (!) so have my own biases and emotions too.
