I remember how my professors knew ancient texts inside out and would talk about them at length in class. Thanks for the video. Kabbalah teaching wanders into reincarnation. I prefer Torah. But I like Liston to a few Rabbis (who believe Kabbalah mysticism.) I am cautious but at peace to what they say. What is hidden will be revealed by YHWH. What is spoken of should be shouted out on the roof tops. These are not quotes but paraphrasing of scripture. YHWH has no relationship with darkness. There are two types of kabbalah, some say three. The two types are theoretical and practical. Practical kabbalah is almost indistinguishable from sorcery (a prohibited biblical practice), but no one knows this side and therefore no one can teach it; it basically does not exist and is therefore harmless. The kabbalists today only know the theoretical side. All the books on kabbalah from authentic sources are theory. Now, others say there is a third dimension called meditation, where names and letters are meditated upon, but there really isn't any basis for this. If you want to meditate on anything, you do not need permission and you do not follow some type of code; you just do it. It is neither part of the kabbalah or advocated in it. People assume that it is part of kabbalah because certain people who where knowledgeable in the subject did meditate on names and such, but that does not mean it is part of the science, if we are to call it a science. Those who call kabbalah witchcraft are referring to the non-existent "practical kabbalah" or "kabbalah maasit"; this is not done today since it was forgotten many hundreds or even thousands of years ago.

I think you mean the Gaonim or Geonim. There is actually no evidence for the development of kabbalah in or around 70 AD, or before that time in the Babylonian exile. This assumes that the collection of books called the Zohar is factual and the characters mentioned in it were historical.

Betterment of self as explained by Kabbalah is wisdom that fundamentally goes against what the Creator who loves us wants for us. He wants love, charity, but the enemy sneaks in and pretends to mimic his plan, but it leads to destruction. True peace comes from studying Torah, not Kabbalah and the new covenant that talks to us about the Word that was made flesh and came to save us. Christianity by and large has done a poor job showing this to the world because it got highjacked by the Roman Catholic Church in 300 AD. The RCC merged pagan practices with Christian principles. The Church has never recovered. Seek to find Elohim through his word, it is life, truth and peace.

Have you ever been to, or studied from, the Kabbalah Centre? You say that Madonna cannot be studying the "authentic Kabbalah" because of the way she acts. I think you're being awfully judgmental based solely on your opinion of Madonna. I assume you don't know her personally. I've learned a great deal from classes at the Kabbalah Centre, as I'm sure Madonna has as well. I was very turned off when you went into judgment on Madonna's character based on what the media shows. I'm sure her personal/spiritual life is much different than the life she created to make money. I feel that the Kabbalah Centre has taken this wisdom and really transformed it into something that modern day society can understand and apply to their lives. Specifically, it's not my job to judge others.

You have too much invested in that organization, but when you come to the stage of realization that you know nothing, then you will be truly receptive, and that is the meaning of the word " kabbalah" itself: "receptive." The Rav gives a reason for why he does not respect egotistical people as examples of a person who has actually learned any aspect of Torah. Read the famous book from a real kabbalist, the RAMCHAL. His book is called Mesillat Yesharim, the path of the just. It is one of the most famous works of mussar that you will find. His other famous book is called Derekh Hashem, or Path of God. Both are easily found, and together they will give you the proper orientation to attain spiritual ascent.
