What Exactly does cross linking do ? Is there a time that a patient suffering from keratoconus will stop using the RGP lens If yu use the RGP lens are you supposed to feel discomfort in the eye for beginners (like as if sand is in the eye feeling )

Hi VMK Game Zone, thank you for your message. Cross linking is useful when the cornea is continuing to become thinner over time. It works by 'reinforcing' the collagen within the cornea, so that it's more firm. It helps stabilise the eye from getting worse, but doesn't directly improve eyesight. RGP lenses do take a period of time to adjust to. We normally recommend increasing the time you put them in everyday, until your eyes feel normal with the lenses. I’ve suddenly noticed lines in my left eye appear distorted, losing color clarity in the same eye,adjusting light to read, pain and red eyes. having diagnosed with KC previously, is KC causing all this!? Heading for an appointment soon

Hi Joshua, thanks for your comment. Keratoconus usually doesn’t cause symptoms like this. Make sure you see an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist as soon as possible. Take care, Leigh

Hello sir I am diagnosis with keratoconus I have done c3r before 4 months but my vision is not clear yet my left eye is -12 and my right eye is minus 2.75 I have glucoma also but not developed so what should I do now for good and clear vision please help me please guide me e what kind of surgery can clear my vision?

Hi Binaba, Thank you for your question. I do not believe there is quick surgery fix for your visual issues. I think you next step is to be evaluated and look at what your options are. Where do you live and hopefully I can recommend someone for you to consult with? All the best.
