What is Lens Protocol: How to Develop on Lens (and why choose Lens)

So, in a basic sense, the social media front ends that developers make will using the SDK and APIs from Lens protocol to connect immutable digital assets (and put logic into them) and design how they are displayed and interacted with on that front end. Then, if a user decided to move to another Lens social media platform, they could basically just plug-n-play their digital assets (NFT profile, followers etc) into this other front end product. Is this correct? edit: and further to that, the Lens social media platforms will be able to each choose how they monetize the platform and it will be up to the users to confirm whether or not they connect their digital/social media assets to that platform and accept the way it is monetized?
