No, you have just talked about positioning that is a part of marketing. If someone is not aware of what is marketing, this is not what you should tell him. Marketing has always same meaning. Marketing is all about finding your target customers, deciding what and how you produce the products and how you will deliver to your customers in order to satisfy their expectation as well as to give profit to your organisation. You have just talked about positioning. A new learner will have just a minor knowledge of marketing by this definition.
