Stress are is not calculated with by core dia, and for bolt with uniform strength shank dia shud be less than pitch dia, this type of fasteners is used for torque to yield tightening

Drilling of bolt is not recommend as it will reduce head Ares which can result head chip off during tightening

Bolt are splined to avoid rotation during tightening of nut

@@hemanthkoundinya4977 no they are special bolt, size of spline is dependent on amount of torque hope I ans your query, other type of bolt to avoid rotation is carriage bolt but can be inserted from bottom side of assembly
