What is your take on oval memory wire?

Is the choice between inward or outward loop strictly esthetic? Or do they have pros and cons?

I find that the inner loop is less likely to get caught on clothes; but when adding a larger charm the outer loop may be the way to go to get the charm to lay right. Both will be structurally sound so it comes down to design.
