So inspiring. I would love to see a video like this on the practice of FULLY living married life. It seems like with many Catholics, marriage is constrained by thinking of things like sex as dirty rather than as a Sacrament. I'd love to hear more preaching on good, holy, fully-lived marriages.

Excellent video and explanation! Thank you Fathers. May all monastic saints of God pray for more vocations to such a beautiful, inspirational and love-filled way of life.

This is one of the greatest videos on the love of God I have ever seen. It hit me at a point in my life where I am doing more introspection of Truth, being apart from the world, turning away from myself more and looking to the Lord and the Roman Catholic church. Praying...and as Saint Jean Vianney said the more we pray the more we love to pray. This is what monastacisim builds on, prayer, truth, silence, God.

Are there any Norbertine Churches or Monastaries in the Boston area?

Hi, any of your friends see visions?.Do some have a spiritual experience that fills them with fear? 😲
@Sockens8 ай бұрын
Do you all have any recommendations for someone who is discerning Priesthood/Monasticism? I'm fairly ignorant about such things, but I really want to give the Spirit an honest chance to guide me toward them if it is His will. I tragically live quite far away from St. Michael's, but I'd love to at least get some general tips from y'all.

When you say that monasticism is imitating the life of Christ aren't you just imitating one part of his life. Christ didn't spend all his time in the desert praying.
@AndreGomes-tn2kb7 ай бұрын
Monks don't pray all the time either. They work (and in some orders they work hard), teach, celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of Mass etc. Just because they aren't pilgrims like the mendicant orders (franciscans, for example) doesn't mean that they just imitate one part of Christ's life. In reality, monks imitate all of the most important aspects of Christ's life. If they chose to imitate Christ's life as literal as possible, it would be impossible for some of them to really focus on what matter the most, which is praying for the salvation of the world. Franciscans, generally, do more works of charity for the poor than monks, because they have the mission, given by God, to do so. But because of that mission, they generally can't focus on contemplation (or praying) as the monks can. In other words, each charism given by God tells us to focus on some works so we can be able to do our mission right. We are humans. Christ is God and human. We can't try to do everything of religious works, because we'll just do everything really bad. We need to focus on the tasks and missions that God wants us, each of us particularly, to do. Focus is the key word.
