It took me forever to figure out Swansea was actually saving the pod for Diasuke. He cared about him and wanted him to do well but did it with tough love And Anya didnt have a grave and her ID wasn't on the wall. That shows how little Jimmy cared about Anya

Spoilers?, though you should try playing it again if you have time. There are a lot of details that were brushed over that may make it clearer why things happened if you care enough about character PoV, than simply the "survival & futility" aspect. There's a lot more meaning than just direct information about what happened. Jimmy refused to take responsibility (cuz he didn't keep it in his pants and, if you play again and take your time searching details, didn't respect Anya in the least which also ties into the horse stuff), but also was envious of Curly's position (which is why he exploded at the party and no one respected him as captain cuz he kept miserably failing to do or fix anything while pushing people around abusively). Curly, while not deserving of the fate he received, his wanting to see the best in the pos that is Jimmy is what landed him there in the first place. Anya wasn't a horrible nurse, I think people that have remotely or directly suffered as much understand that much. Also, Swansea best girl.

He didn't want to get fired, but he the reason he flipped is that he knew that with the baby she could prove he raped her (without the baby there would be no physical evidence by the time they returned to earth or wherever, that they ever has sex, consensual or otherwise, and just testimony is rarely ever enough to convict) and he'd go to prison, that's the biggest reason for trying to crash it.

When Swansea and Anya were talking in the cock pit, they were talking about who they think should get the Cryopod, and they ended up deciding on Daisuke because if Anya did survive and did deliver her child, she wouldn’t be able to have enough money to take care of herself and the child, and Swansea wanted Daisuke to live out his life since he was the youngest out of the crew.
