So glad you've become an ambassador for Mythras. Love that TDM logo in the corner haha. Good job inwils.

I am playing my first game using the Mythras system today, which is also my first time playing a tabletop RPG. During character creation I had some rather unfortunate rolls when creating my background. My character's whole family was killed, and he was sold into slavery when he was a child. This should be a fun game lol

Mythras seems like it would pair favorably with the old Central Casting: Heroes of Legend book

Thank you for your comment, it is easily adaptable so you can make it your own Mythras :)

Would you be able to make a video detailing how you go through creating your npcs/ foes in mythras?

Sure. Will do. 😀

Oh I would love that, too!

Thanks for this video. It’s very helpful to see that other groups struggle with generation too. 😉 I am just wondering, why you cannot learn more the three professional skills from your career list. For example, the sorcerer in your campaign has the two magic skills plus folk magic. So he cannot read or have lore (magic). Am I right? That kind of seems strange...
@inwils4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment - the characters in our campaign have been around for a while (started on 8 Aug 2017) - So I am not sure what they started with :) but I would have thought that Gully chose Folk Magic, Invocation and Shaping as his starting professional skills and then learnt Lore(magic/runes) at a later date. The important thing, as Loz would say, is to make Mythras your own, although the rules as written provide game balance to start of with.
@tim-oliverfranzke86914 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your thoughts! I think, as you said in the video, it is very important to plan the whole generation process. What should the character have as skills and where to get them. So you could chose Lore (Magic) as a professional skill in your culture and Read as a hobby and you would be fine, I think.
@inwils4 жыл бұрын
That would be one option, or not think of your character as a completed product at character generation and let them develop as you play. Hope this helps and thanks for your support.

Great to see Mythras getting some love. Can I just point you to the Design Mechanism website and the excel workbook that it provides for download that makes all the busywork of creating a character and working out starting ability scores so much easier. It really is nice. thedesignmechanism.com/character-sheets.php.

Without a general setting, plethora of baddies, or campaign, how do you run the game personally?

How do I run the game personally? In my own opinion - pretty well 😁 - is that what you meant? 😊

@@inwils Hahahhhahhahahhhahahahahha, your biased!! I’ve listened to the entire library of “MYTHRAS MATTERS” and it seems like you would be a great GM. Seriously though, Do you need supplements to be able to run a major campaign or because it’s relatively low magic or most of your bad guys/setting all human based?
@inwils2 жыл бұрын
@@TheJDough1 there are various supplements that you can buy to run specific campaigns. These are mostly historical - for example, Mythic Britain. There are also supplements link Monster Island that provides a whole island to explore and then the Book of Quests that has a series of adventures in a joined campaign. I really wanted to create my own world so went solo with mine. The CRB provides the stats for different races that can be characters but I prefer all human, it's easier for me to scare silly in the darkness 😁😁- does that help?
@TheJDough12 жыл бұрын
@@inwils It does help. Thank you so much! I do have mythic Britain and we eager to run a game in that setting. I am also looking to pick up the other mythiz settings as well. Also MSpace, because that sounds very interesting. Since the game came from Runequest, and Magic is almost necessary to those rules, is it easy to run Mythras with extremely low Magic If any at all?
@inwils2 жыл бұрын
In our campaign at the moment we have theist magic, sorcery and a mystic - plenty of magic and it allows things to be very creative! - I dont have magical items, but I recently did a video about creating items :) Also there is Classic Fantasy which is like the Mythras rules in a DnD setting :) M-Space is great, we have a campaign for that too. I like I enjoy the less prescriptive rule sets :) - there is also a discord, links in the show notes for Mythras Matters :)

Where can I find a bestiary for Mythras or do I have to break down and buy Gloranthas' Bestiary?
@inwils2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jonas - apart from the creatures in the core rule book - there is a wonderful website! called the Mythras Encounter generator mythras.skoll.xyz/ it is really great - just type in and search and you can get them on a pdf or imported straight into Roll20. There is of course the creatures in Classic Fantasy if you want more of the DnD type of critters - including my favourite- the rust monster! Hope this helps and thank you for your comment 😁

@@inwils thank you so much. I spent a large deal of time trying to search for Mythras Monsters, and the closest I found was from a video game.

Also will add that almost any monster beastiary from a Chaosium d100 game works. Even Cthulhu if you are into the dark worlds. Mythras/Classic Fantasy is a great system for medieval Cthulhu and world saving heroics.
