But Naruto is mostly a nostalgia drive for me (grew up with it while I was a kid and started watching it on TV, till I got and graduated from collage as Shippuden ended), and it always touches the feels.

Naruto episode 1 is peak big 3. By far the best first episode of the three and does the best job of explaining the premise of the show, setting up the story and showcasing how the world works. It also starts you off quite limited, handful of characters, 3-4 different locations around the village, sets up a goal for the episode quite early and fulfils on that goal by the end. Also to this day is probably the most nostalgic first episode of Anime.

I think Naruto Shippuden was the first anime where I bawled my eyes out multiple times. Also, I think someone should make you an ultimate Naruto watch guide for reactions sake because it is guilty of a massive amount of fillers that don't do anything in terms of progress or character growth. However there are some great filler episodes that I don't think you'd want to miss.

Oh my god it's been so long since I last saw Naruto's first episode (been 20 years, I think?). It's so old school lol. The quality, the video size, the effects... oh man, nostalgia. The connection between Iruka-sensei and Naruto starting from the first episode really makes the stuff near the ending more heartwarming. I don't know when you'd end up watching this or if you would watch the fillers but I hope you enjoy it. Also, I don;t think you've reacted to the Naruto EDs yet (only the Shippuuden ones) and they're pretty good so I hope you check them out.

Naruto is one of the biggest animes of all time and its *still* somehow underrated. I think maybe because its so long you kinda forget alot of the absolute stellar events, scenes and characters. I rarely hear ayone listing Naruto in their top lists. It really should be. There IS alot of fillers at one point and some side storiesffeels raher unneccesary but if you cut them out and look at the core story, how its written, what it says and how its all portrayed, aruto IS one of the best animes of all time. The characters in particular are fantastic, they feel extremely real and personal. Which comes through especially well if watching all of Naruto AND Boruto as it takes place over a sime span of like 20 years. You can visually see them all growing up and maturing but never at any point do they stop feeling like the character they are.. The changes in their personality makes perfet sense and the core of who they are always stays with them, even as they grow up I feel like I actually know them all personally, you can watch an episode and literally predict how someone will react or what they will think cuz you know their personality, its quite amazing. And ALL the characters get this treatment, there is like 100 of them.

Naruto starts really strong and has some good highs. Those early story arcs are some of it's best. The series is full of fillter and can drag things out. Filler is something that is not in the original manga. Partly was done because the Manga and Anime were being developed at the same time. The Anime would catch up to the Manga so they would add filler to pad things out. There were no breaks like My Hero Acadamia does to let the Manga get ahead. There is follow up series called Naruto Shippuden, takes place after a time jump of a few years. Where Naruto is much older. That's like when they went to wide screen as well.

I've just had a thought. Out of the Big 3, when each story starts, Naruto's the youngest (I think he's 12 here), then it's Ichigo (at around 15), and Luffy is the oldest of the three, being 17 years old. Luffy being the oldest of the group is CRAZY.

At some point you should definitely check out some of the Naruto OST. Has some of the hypest battle themes in anime. Any time you hear one of those drum beats starting up, you know something cool is about to happen. In particular, off of the first OST volume (just in order by the tracklist) I suggest: The Raising Fighting Spirit Need to be Strong Bad Situation Strong and Strike Turn Over Naruto Main Theme

I wish you had an anime channel spearate from the music and games. It would make it easier to watch all of it than switching between your channels to watch it all. Even the stuff from Twitch could be edited like the reactions for KZbin and just all put in one area. I ended up subbing from my other account just so I wouldn't be spammed with notifications from the other stuff that I watched less of. Though I'm one of those people that can't really get into Twitch like other people so take what I suggest with a grain of salt. I'm also NOT an anime fan but One piece live action happened. I've watched it and people recommending the anime. But instead watching one piece anime, I tried watching Naruto not to join the hype of one piece. And i'm literally surprised that Naruto won't make you skip any episode. He will make you moved and cry w/ his words and actions. Meanwhile, in one piece it's only sanji's specific scene that made me emotional. Making Naruto live action will be a BIG challenge w/ all the technicalities, characters and powers. Now, i'm about to start watching Buroto, I even tried watching other anime but I just can't continue. Thanks one piece for making me watch naruto tho.

Naruto was originally meant to be a much shorter story, and a very different plot. That's why so many revalations happen in episode 1, and why so much of it is wildly inconsistant with the later series.

Some information why we get so many info in episode 1: So the Naruto series a shounen genre. The word "shounen" in Japanese means "young boy" so the shounen genre is mainly targeted towards young boys demographic (ofc, everyone regardless of age watched the show despite their age). Shounen anime typically has a formula, where the main protagonist (who is also a young boy) has a goal to become something and the whole series will be about the protag's journey and adventure in achieving that goal. So the whole lots of hundreds of episodes are focused on this journey. That's why it is not strange to see them inserting the key information right off the bat in the first episode of these shounen anime.

Naruto is such a slow burn before it really gets moving that first hundred thousand episodes are half flashbacks but after episode 400 thousand that's when they really get moving, BELIEVE IT

Do note , it going to take Luke 3 years (if he skip all filler) to finish Naruto (720 eps) and slightly more for One piece (900+ eps and still ongoing). This if he only watch 5 eps per week like his other twitch format. Now we can see why each fandom start to be toxic to each other. But do we have to? Not necessarily. This is because you can just not watch it if you don't like it and i personally won't watch it either if i don't feels like it. In the end, enjoy to people who got their favs won.
