One aspect of it is the privatization of profit and the socialization of risk.

Neoliberalism is about free markets and small governments with limited power that don't intervene much. The government of USA , which you claim is neoliberal and has been since 1970, currently spends $8,000,000,000,000+$ per year. Neoliberalism not only isn't a conspiracy to increase the divide between classes, it's often the opponents of neoliberalism (not marxists, but "moderate" leftists) who most protect the interests of the established ultra-rich by engaging in crony capitalism, where you have a massively rich government that injects billions into failing banks, chip producers like Intel, etc. Genuine marxists and genuine free marketeers should combine their political influence to oppose such actions, instead of flinging poo at each other

Academics have written on this, they tell people they are “slimming the state” by cutting all administrative jobs but then the neoliberal state is much bigger than the previous state structure because all of the public work is now subcontracted to PRIVATE enterprises, meaning the jobs the government once did are now done by private corporations at a much higher cost to tax payers. The state is as big as it was before but is now a shadow state where accountability is lost as private corporations dictate how they will deliver to governments not the other way around

Ah yes academics is my favorite source. When ever I need to make and evidenceless statement I like academics as a source but a close second is authorities familiar with the situation and my third pick has to be unnamed insider.

The opposite of neoliberalism is not communism or socialism though, it's free market capitalism as it used to be before it became corporatised and weaponised. Ultimately the extreme left ends up being just exactly the same as the extreme right. What needs to be achieved is the distribution of wealth and control without the means of generating wealth being destroyed in the process or it just ending up in the hands of the state who then play God with people's lives even worse than neoliberalism does.

Wrong on so many levels hahaha sorry but horseshoe theory - repeatedly disproven Neoliberalism IS an ideology of the state

@@TheLeftLibrary The extent to which Horseshoe Theory is a useful idea in a given context can be debated, but, given the number of politically extreme regimes throughout history, both on the far left and on the far right, which, despite having opposite political visions, were equally convinced of their own self-righteousness to the point of indiscriminately crushing dissenters, bulldozing over basic human rights to chase after some mad ideal in precisely the same way…the idea that Horseshoe Theory has been “disproven” is utterly meaningless. It’s odd that people still lash out at this theory so predictably. It’s almost as if they’re saying they would support an oppressive regime, as long as it’s their people running it.
@rhysrail2 ай бұрын
@@deshrektivesthe thing is people would support an oppressive regime if it’s their own because people are way more selfish than you think especially the lefts which entire policy is steal of people better off than them, then they claim that democracy solves that but democracy is in itself singles people out as it doesn’t account how much something matters to someone, For example if there was a vote where there were 3 people and they were voting on whether to take 1 of those peoples money and split it between the other 2 9/10 the 2 peoples who money it is not would vote for it as they get free money but the persons money whose it was obviously say no
@NeonRaveHuskey2 ай бұрын
That's exactly what communists and fascists are saying. They do not care about you but only their vision of society and if millions need to die for this then it's a cost they have been shown willing to pay time and time again.
