I disagree as just one set a year may kill the game as sealed events won’t happen and new cards coming in make it so people can’t truly get into the game by just buying a few packs to dip their toes in the water

I hope sorcery stays with 1 set a year. It makes it the perfect companion tcg to have along side another tcg you’re maining. Also increases the quality of that set

With the next set over 6 months away AND it being a smaller set, Beta needs another wave. I hope it’s in stores again. Otherwise it will be too difficult to get new players.

People always say this but it’s always based off box prices. Beta pre cons, singles and bulk are so cheap. If you’re trying to play then it’s very affordable. If you’re trying to rip open boxes for fun then it’s getting expensive

Beta does NOT need another wave. Sorcery should wait till Unlimited to reprint SOME of the cards in Beta, and put other cards in Alpha / Beta on a Reserved list to lock in the value of Alpha and Beta cards. Beta ordinary cards cost pennies right now.

I do hope we get a controlled second wave of beta just to keep boxes at $150 but not tank the market. I really don't want the boxes to creep up to $200 after just one month but we're already halfway there 😢

My local game stores sold out of Beta very quickly. Boxes online are drying up. I'm all for 1 major set release a year with either a smaller subset or duel decks. My only concern is, we are only a few weeks removed from Beta and boxes are hitting $200. Are we potentially going to see 1k Beta boxes by April / May ? This is one of those good problems to have, demand is extremely high but they can't price players and collectors out within just a few months of release and having them wait 10 months until a new set. They have to carefully balance reprints to try and keep retail somewhere between $150 - $200. TCG collectors / investors are no strangers to having to wait 2 - 5 years for major appreciation. (me being one of them) But I think having a new release moon within a few months could have a negative impact more so than if boxes remained within that $150 - $200 range in my opinion.

I hope they sell this through stores - don't want to "normalize" direct sales and building trust and partnerships with the LGS is going to be critical to Sorcery's success. I hope they make some sort of official announcement about Revised, Reprint policies, and the next set's expected release date. Along with store tournament support and game play. Looking forward to Dust reward details.

As far as card shops go, Sorcery seems to be saying sell it or don't. They are giving everyone an opportunity to enjoy the game how they want (including in-store play) but I don't see it as a top seller or game in any stores outside of the month of a set release. That's why they partnered with TC and that's why they get Rudy so much product. This is a game that will be played in homes and at best can be a once or twice a month war gaming style event at a store. It is impossible to release more than 1 set per year given the manner that they're making the game. George hit the nail on the head months ago, this really should have been an LCG. It's fun enough to exist without the collectability. If we get the 1st expansion in 2024 I'd be suprised but thankful. I'm still expecting it in 2025. In 3 months, go play something else and Sorcery will be here waiting for you to come back, this doesn't need to be a lifestyle haha

I agree! the third set of a new tcg is usually the one thats the first overprinted fk up (monarch, native...). Since alpha was kickstarter exclusive arthurian legends could be considered the 2nd main set. I rly hope they make it right and dont print too much. Great video Louie!
