Not just one attempt but two as she said in a later post

Your account isn't quite right, as far as we know Selen wasn't threatening any action and she said herself that she just wanted to move on. As far as we know she got a lawyer to protect herself, and when niji decided to try to drag her every chance they get they don't really give her any choice but to take legal action.

It was stated in the original termination notice that she took legal council ❤

@@OkomieVT Seeking legal council isn't the same as threatening a lawsuit, just wanted to make sure that was clarified. Anyone leaving a company like this should seek legal council for defensive reasons even if they don't plan any offensive legal action. I like your video I just felt that little piece of nuance is important since I believe their actions are an attempt to strongarm Doki out of future legal action, rather than a response to existing legal actions.

And with working with international talents that simply has to change 😔

@@OkomieVT+ Funny how Riku is now making appearances when he's losing hundreds of millions. I guess "saving face" in Japan is important after all. But at this point I know the typical Billionaire's End Game. 1. File ch.12 2. Chop up what's left and sell 3. He pays nothing. Investors and workers lose everything. 4. Repeat

Your take is some what correct a few miss but it's understandable. not really a fan of vtubing but due to this issue i personally is now a fan of doki. This is just the case of corpo B.S that will affects all their talents. one of the worst PR stunts.
@OkomieVT8 ай бұрын
This stunt/event will 100% go down in history. I have read that Law Students are now being shown this and are using it to learn from/making mock trials as part of their curriculum! This will spark a wave of change in the Vtuber world, I just know it ❤
@KaitoD8 ай бұрын
Putting all the legal and black company stuff aside, Niji really missed on the whole fragile nature of managing this style of Vtuber talents because once a talent is lose they can't be replaced, you can introduce new ones and old fans of old talents who's moved on may transfer over but the talents aren't easily replaceable, a big part of selling a Vtuber is selling their personality to the viewers and that can't be replaced, unlike those the likes of Kizuna AI where Kizuna herself has has the person behind her be changed a few times, more stereotypical Vtubers like Selen is not scripted like AI, making it stupid to not value the main money making method, if you make money mowing lawns, you need to often service that lawnmower, if you have a service revolving around driving a lot whether you do deliveries or you're a taxi style service, you service the car, if you have a business revolved around having a group of people entertaining fans who would then fund your business through mainly viewership, donations and merchandise sales where the main focus of the merchandise is the talent behind your company, then value those talents and individuals because if they leave then you will lose your source

I have a theory about the supposed harassment: I don't think it's actually other livers "harassing" her. I think management kept yelling at her, and her coworkers tried to keep her on the straight and narrow. She may have felt it was harassment, but corporations *do* have to watch out for copyrights and permissions, and sometimes that stuff can take forever... I believe Vox saying that he considered her a friend, not just a coworker, and if it were me, and my friend keeps getting in trouble at work, I'm going to be talking to them about it because I don't want them to lose their job. I have a feeling that the recording of Vox might be proof against other entities in the company rather than him specifically, like citing something she'd been warned against. Maybe she took it as just coworkers harassing her on behalf of staff. This is all just a (somewhat educated) guess, of course. Maybe she **was** bullied by other talents behind the scenes... To me though, it always feels like NijiEN's management starts this trouble. I don't like how the company operates, and I'd like to believe that the livers aren't just cold jerks to each other, mindlessly bullying someone. I feel like, same with the Zaion situation, she did some risky things that the company was not happy with, and the other talents tried to get them on the right track. Personally, if it wasn't working out, yeah she should've been allowed to leave amicably, and go indie. I feel icky about both sides of this now though, because while I don't believe what the company is saying, I do believe some of the stuff said by Elira, Vox, and Ike. Vox himself had been a bit of a troublemaker before, and I'd take a guess that it was part of why he would be one of the people trying to reel her in. The whole situation sucks and Anycolor blows as per usual, but I think Doki might've gone a bit far if she did accuse other talents. That's the only part of this where the stink doesn't seem to be solely on Anycolor, and started to make me question some things. I think Doki might've perceived something as something it was not... And also... Maybe she didn't feel as close to her colleagues as they seemed to feel about her. Or she felt they were taking the company's side over hers, when they were probably just looking out for her. Which is just... Really unfortunate and kinda sad to consider a possibility. I'm also going to bet that management lied about some of the details to their talents, or forced them to say her accusations were against them and not management, because they know most of the fans wouldn't accept it about the livers but would DEFINITELY accept it as further proof of the company's already demonstrably shitty practices. But... That's all just my own guesses about what is going on, and I could very easily be totally wrong. 🤷♂️

Its possible! I hope to put out a better, more researched and better paced video soon. At the end of the day, even if Doki did everything wrong, the way Niji is handling this is volatile and unacceptable. It reads more like a messy break up where one partner is trying to ruin the others reputation and less like a company letting an employee go.
