Can anyone help, please? I’m trying to create tutorials but I can’t play Ableton for very long when recording with OBS. My CPU temperature is hitting 90 Degrees C and my CPU percentage is steadily rising till it glitches out. By this time my fans are going crazy and OBS won’t stop the recording it’s just freezing. My mac book spec is below and main OBS recording specs are below. Any help would be insanely appreciated, I’ve been trouble shooting and trying to get up and running for a week trying to work everything out and it all crumbles at the last hurdle of setting up.

Question: Does recording video result in loss of quality in audio & video from the original feed? Or is it equal to a digital copy?

that's a great question. When you record you get a chance to choose a bit-rate. That's essentially how the video is being encoding and encoding always loses some quality. Most of your video signals are not likely to be more than 3 Gigabits which is 1080p60fps so most are 1080p30 which is 1.5 Gbps. Anyway, most people encode their videos around 100 Mbps, which to me is almost no noticeable quality difference.

This is not supported by a large community of developers from around the world. If it were, the collective intelligence would have designed a really great program. Yes... it will stream and record video, beyond that its abilities fall off like a bell curve. NO? Check out the forum. Try and produce a live TV show. You'll see the shortcomings right away when you try and bring in footage while you are on the air. Video footage does not show up in the preview window, there is no timeline, so you will have no idea when it will end, so you cannot inform the talent... we're coming back in 10 seconds... cause you just don't know. Has tremendous potential for programmers who care, but the thin skinned programmers on the forum would rather ostracize people for their unkindly comments rather than fix all the bugs. They've been stuck on V25 for months with no solution in sight. STAY AWAY FROM THE HOT KEYS; THEY ARE A REAL BUGABOO.

Thanks for all of this! Wasn't sure which guide explains how I would be able to live-stream in real-time my xbox gameplay using OBS as a conduit. Is this feasible? (The idea could be I have all my peripherals setup on my laptop and then just turn on my xbox when I play so I can simultaneously record it in OBS.)

does anyone here know if is it capable of capturing video Gaming, and also if the recoding icon (if there is one) disappear once the process (capturing the game play) while playing the game, what I mean is will that little icon still be visible whilst playing your game, and if so a way to turn it off once recording begins?
