damn, I just wish I found this earlier. Every single mountain of scuffed workaround and hoops I had to jump have been ticked off here This is what I imagine Unity 6 should look like in an alternate universe

I'm a beginner at Unity shopping around for Unity plugins so I haven't looked carefully at Odin. Does Odin become a dependency of your project? Is it trivial to stop using Odin 2 weeks into a project?

You can uninstall Odin so long as you don't use the serialization and run in editor-only mode, you can easily remove Odin at any time and leave behind just the attributes.dll to prevent compile errors from using Odin attributes. You can then remove the attributes at your leisure. So Odin is pretty safe if you want to suddenly remove it. If you have more questions or concerns come over to the Odin Discord: discord.gg/p2TAmJB

Very interesting, but what if you are working on a project with many devs do we need a license per seat? Same for asset publishing can we embed Odin? My question is is there a way to share stuff made with Odin with other people? Like a static build or smthg ? Thanks

The short answer is that each developer will need an Odin license. There is no redistributable build. If you have more questions, drop by the Odin discord.

BSG using this for Escape from Tarkov has made modding a pain in the ass sometimes

I wish more than anything that Odin had a distributable component that could be included with created editors so that editors created with it could be released and not for internal use only. : ( At least my personal tools are amazing.

Right! That would be amazing. I think there's mention of this feature on the roadmap. So maybe it'll happen some time in the future?

@@OneWheelStudio I have been waiting two years already since someone mentioned it, but if it takes two more, so be it. With it, lol.

@@mosth8ed It would really take Odin to a new level and a make it incredibly useful for other asset creators.

You talk waaaaaay too fast for non-native English speakers...

You're not the first to comment on it. Turns out my home region is the fastest talking part of the US... I'll work on the pacing. I appreciate the feedback.

its barely even fast. He pauses between every sentence and speaks words slow enough

You can slow down the video to 0.75x and it will sound "normal".
