Listening to you talking about your monthly spending and budgeting as compared to when you lived in the US, it appears that you are spending less based on not having a car and all the expenses that go along with it. But it also sounds that may be spending more on eating out because you are tempted by all the food choices available. All in all it's good to have a budget and doing one's best to stick to it. I enjoyed your vlog. Stay well.
KFC seems to be the only chicken fast food restaurant in Japan. I remember eating it in Japan about 45 years ago( yes, I'm old😅). My mom, sister and I were in Japan to visit our grandparents, my sister and I wanted western food. The meal for the 3 of us was $15, even with the yen being 300 yen/dollar, which was outrageous 45 yrs ago. Just curious if there are other brands in Japan, such as Jollibee. If you or Bren haven't tried it, you need to. If there are none in Japan, please try it when you next visit the US. You need to try not only the chicken, but the spaghetti, mango peach pie, palabok, and the pineapple juice. The food is the bomb!

We loved going to Jollibee in Seattle! Unfortunately they aren’t in Japan yet.
