2:15 - 09:34 An excellent Overview of the OutSystems platform especially for anyone who wants to know about the scope and capability of the platform. It's a lot more than low code.

I am the head of technology at my organization. We have used Outsystems and our experience is great. Honestly speaking, the only downside is the high Opex in which the license is far more expensive than other low code platforms. In addition, they start quoting the license per user, and this is another limitation as well. These limitations make the top management concerned whether to consider Outsystems in future projects or not.

I work for big govt organization in California . We only have 5 developers using Outsystem, they charge by objects (no# of screen, aggregates) which is weird so I guess they assume we have big budget.

@@thelowcodeshow I saw all your videos and even built some excerises. I need input. Starting from ground zero. i am being asked to learn this in 2 weeks and then in 6 weeks build an enterprise app with a very highly functional mobile app, security, database sync to other systems and a customer portal.Along with 2 dev`s. Outsystems is telling this is a very easy to do in this platform and that my company should buy the licensing. Does this make sense to you ?

@@thelowcodeshow Great content indeed, learned a lot. Just one remark, while trying to follow the steps on the OutSystems app the fact we dont have access to the spreadsheets used means we cant follow the exact steps, just a thought for the future maybe have a generic set of data and link it so people can follow along. Otherwise great stuff.

Hey , I want to ask that ,what is the future of outsystems..? As a computer science engineer one should Build websites from html , css and javascript or from outsystems.?
@thelowcodeshow3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaipreet, I think it is important for you to understand the underlying technologies. However, it is my opinion the the future of mobile and web dev will be done with OutSystems or similar platforms. The speed and agile nature of the OS platform is unbeatable.

Can you please explain how's it better compare to other low codes like Appian or Pega
@thelowcodeshow3 жыл бұрын
Hi Salma! Sure, I can answer that. OutSystems was designed from the ground up to be a developers tool. If you are coming from a coding background then it is most likely that you will prefer OutSystems. It has an open ended architecture so that you can extend the platform. The behind the scenes code is compiled to standard/optimized .NET code. (no proprietary runtime) Therefore, as an OutSystems developer, you will never hit a wall that restricts you from doing what you need to do. This can not be said for some of our competitors.

@@thelowcodeshow thanks for the reply As m being Appian developer looking forward to learn Outsystem !!

@@salmakhan7590 That's great! I will be adding videos to this channel weekly. I think that Appian is a quality platform, but I have never built an Appian app so from a developer perspective I can't really compare. I do know that you will have a lot of fun learning and developing with OutSystems. Enjoy!

Thank you for the tutorial! I'm following and downloaded the files you provided. However, when I open the app in the browser, it asks for login. I never created a login so I just inputted some text put it throwing an failed login error. Is there login you could share with us so that we play around with the app in the browser?

Solution: I had to set the role to anonymous. I'm using a later version of service studio so the checkbox isn't in the entity settings like it is in the video (it's in the screen settings for the entity).

I clicked through the tutorial and used the original excel files from your filespace as Input. In the published version, the images do not show up on both products site and Home ( 4 Column Gallery). instead some empty image symbol (I think it is called broken image symbol). Any thoughts what I might have done wrong ?

Is OutSystems considered a CMS (content management system) platform or a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platform?
@stephenaggett41733 жыл бұрын
Hello Russel, your channel & content is awesome! My one hurdle is Outsystems charges $ 4000 / month for their Basic package. This knocks out most dev's entering the market or smaller businesses wanting to harness such a great product. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Stephen, how are you doing? I'm doing my research and I see the Basic plan starts at $1,500. Is there any additional fee I'm not seeing?
