Very interesting culture. I want to know more about the beliefs. The lore is very beautiful too. Viking mythos and mythos of Dagda,Morrigan is very interesting .

Well said. I get so tired of the arguments against modern paganism, you’ve got it 100% right, it’s a liaison between both the past and now, a renewal.

Perhaps, it is a technical mistake. The lecture is about paganism and not Confucianism.

There is almost no relationship between contemporary and ancient paganism. Ancient paganism arose because of ritualized sacrifice which are the re-enactment of some originary murder due to violent centralization of resentment. Social problems were resolved by a cathartic discharge of hatred onto some scapegoat. Every ancient culture did this, from Mesoamerica to the ancient Hebrews and Canaanites. Contemporary paganism is due to a reject of Christianity and a re-appropriation of ancient symbols whose significance have long since been forgotten. How is this at all the same?

@A B Oh, that dude! I'm highly critical of his theories, especially with the scapegoat concept. It's tempting to simplify things but if you go too far you lose accuracy. Science is amazing at determinable things such as math and physics, but humans aren't so determinable. Tbh, I don't think the universe is determinable either, just predictable enough on a large scale, just as humans. So is he completely wrong? No Is he completely correct? Fuck no

@@drake47367 I'd be happy to look at sources skeptical of Girard if you can provide me whatever has influenced you.

It’s no wonder people are disappointed with Christianity, partly because of issues tied to priests, such as the "binary God." Also, from a moral perspective, it appears weaker than paganism.

Just say about paganism its about history of Christianity in europe
