I’m so happy I found your channel. Investing in the PII funds and currently the higher risk PII funds, 6-7 years have been shaved off my retirement date. I am working on a buffer right now (more income is better) but knowing that if I decided not to work, I could easily pay all of my expenses. Quality of life cannot be measured through returns. And BTW, if I can make more income somewhere else, I’ll take the opportunity. Thank you 🦋

Hi Adrian, I am already retired (74) and PII investor. For now I do not touch the distributions, I reinvest all of it for when I will need a few thousand a month just for the pills 😏. Don't forget to tell those investors that when you are retired, your expense are also going down by at leat 30%...(cloths, restaurants, gaz and auto expense, for work only...etc...etc...). Being a PII is a no brainer, does not keep you up at night....and you don't really care about the capital fluctuting too much. I like the idea of PII and your work, and think it is suited for retired like me..Keep going in your work. 😁

Good video thank you. Couple things. First, PII is an element of peace in my life. It contributes to a calmer demeanor, and allows me to detach from a lot of market stuff. Second, in the US, closed end funds are used by a lot of investors (I'm a huge fan of the Cornerstone twins...and they are almost twins in spite of what one guy on YT says...not PII Guy!). HOWEVER CEF's can plunge way faster than the market, and did in 2020 and past corrections/bad markets. THEN on top of that, many of them cut their dividends, so you get a double whammy. That's one reason I LOVE CLM and CRF. Just a caution from a seasoned older investor who has may scars from a lifetime of investing mistakes (and successes)... Jim in FL

PII has significantly increased my income allowing me to 1) help one of my daughters with the rent on her apartment 2) increased our trip budget (which is really nice for those of us in our early 70’s 3) focus a lot less on what’s going on in the market on a daily basis 4) allowed me to significantly increase my charitable giving…just to name a few of the personal benefits I have enjoyed since going PII.

This is a great explanation of passive. I agree My self I prefer to buy and hold for ever. But sometimes I might have make a few changes. No thT big of deal. Passive income for me is keeping capital. And living on my interest /payouts / money working for me. I reinvest 10% of my payouts. It works for me if I can get 8% on a fund or more. Works for me thanks

Income investing is the only investing one can trust. You can never trust something to go up over the long term so i rather they just give me the profits right now instead of re-investing it into whatever they think will do well in the future. If you want growth, just re-invest that income into what YOU believe will do better in the future and take your own command, and once you need money you can just withdraw the income instead of re-investing it. Easy

Hi I have been watching you for just a short time, but have learned a lot, my question is I had approx 2000 shares of DGS , I made the mistake of selling it off, then made the mistake of purchasing DFN, live and learn I guess, I just feel like I am missing out on other options that are actually paying dividends… I am in a tight spot and I don’t want to sell yet because of the loss I Will realize, would you sell as soon as the the stock price is in the green and purchase something else. Or just keep it because it will eventually pay off. Thanks

Just the possibility of more missed distributions. 20% becomes 15% quickly with a few missed distributions. CC ETFs are better long term IMO. No special stocks in Split funds that aren’t in CC ETFs

Hi Adrian, with the recent rise in Covered call etfs in US & Canada, my question is wouldn't the increase in supply reduce the Premiums for these options and therefore reduce the potential Yeilds generated by CCetfs ? It increases the competition among the funds for yeild. Seems like the more popular these type of funds become the worse it is for investors looking for higher yeilds. Thank you
@dkyrtata6688
@dkyrtata6688 Жыл бұрын
Maybe what you suggest about potential yields is true, but the market is very diverse with many investors who think that high yield funds are smoke and mirrors resulting in "NAV erosion;" that total return is the only thing that matters. Moreover, other investors who buy covered call and put contracts do so for various strategic reasons and insurance protection. Bottom Line: not everyone will have the same mindset, strategies, and objectives about investing. That's inherent in the market.

The Options Market is massive. The volume done by the professionals will always overwhelm what retail investors, through these ETFs, do. Volatility in the options market will go up and down but these ETFs, geared to retail investors, won’t drive the Options Market.

I got around $100k of capital from selling a small business. I first tried selling my own options for income, but I was doing the wheel strategy on individual stocks, and I ended up losing a bunch of money due to poor stock picking. Now I'm just putting the money into a 50/50 mix of JEPI and JEPQ, and I will eventually expand into more funds you promote. So, thank you for sharing all your thoughts and knowledge to help me do this intelligently.

You say to be financially free your dividend passive income needs to be enough to pay all your bills each month I don't think this is actually correct I think you also have to factor in continued investing inflation and a "extra" cushion of safety say when you figure out your quit working monthly dollar amount considering all those factors and a 20% or 25% buffer to the quit number so for example of you decide you need 10k a month 7k to live off of and 3k for inflation and continued investing it would be best to add another 2500 for a total of $12,500 dollars a month as a safer goal before you leave working entirely

I get around 5500 USD a month my condo cost 228 dollars a month my car payment is around 450 dollars a month and my utilities are about 250 dollars a month and everything else like food and gas and stuff I budget another 500 a month so I budget 1500 a month for bills and am paying off all debt and will start dividend investing the rest once I am debt free and have a emergency fund set aside that should be February or March of 2024

If you would have placed your money in the S&P500 in 1999 it would have taken 10 years for your money to recuperate in 2009. The so-called lost decade. I don't consider 10 years or perhaps next time it could be 15 years, short-term. This long of a down market can greatly affect your finances.
