Now I have to ask for an example of a non percussion instrument I mean when playing the guitar you scrape the strings so would that make the guitar a percussion instrument?

Thanks for watching. Guitar is played by strumming and plucking. If you're referring to scraping as a sound effect, then yes it's being played "percussively" as an extended technique. There are many ways to play guitar and most other instruments with percussive technique, but it doesn't make them percussion instruments. The cool thing is we can all borrow technique from each other!
